New Jersey City University, with declining enrollment, to merge with Kean University

NJCU, a smaller state school compared to other universities in New Jersey, has seen a decrease in enrollment over the years.

With the Kean University/New Jersey City University merger, the Golthic Knights are basically discontinuing their athletic program. The Kean campus in Union will be the sports hub. NJCU sports joining Kean will be mens and Womens wrestling and womens cross country. Kean has some very nice facilities including their arena, football stadium, and baseball stadium.

The new campus in Jersey City will be called Kean Jersey City, similiar to Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands, etc.
