Should point out that Tyler Graff is registered and team is listed as NYAC/SKWC. I know he has been around the team this past season and I would imagine we are trying to bring on to SKWC.

Just a note that freestyle doesn't start until Saturday so our guys will not be wrestling until then.

Very nice win for Giraldo.

Theobold lost, Perrotti and Pafumi both won. Heard Perrotti missed weight so wrestling up.

Giraldo lost to a tough Michigan kid, Fisher, in the last seconds. had him beat but couldn't finish the match.

And Dippery just teched a guy in less than 30 seconds. guy had a front headlock on him and Dippery used a 2 on 1 to peak out (might have that move wrong) for 4 then 3 trap arm guts later and the match is over. impressive.

Got to watch here and there today, and I got to say the guys wrestled great today. 10 guys made it to tomorrow (if you include Tyler Graff).

Out are Patrick (McCabe knocked him out 7-6), Ottaviano, Theo (Bill is right his style of being a funky wrestler is not suited for Freestyle), Messner and Bakuckas.

Just a heads up to anyone that has the Flo subscription there is a match that you don't want to miss in the Cadet Finals. It is between Spencer Lee and Dalton Fix and should be just after 10am today. Both these kids are HS Soph.

Probably don't have to tell anyone about Spencer Lee but if you haven't heard of Dalton Fix he is every bit of a stud as Lee, Suriano, etc... He is the kid that Suriano had the 30 minute match against at the Flo Whos #1 in October/November. Last month Fix wrestled in a Freestyle tournament with College kids and texhed his way a Championship. On the way teching two kids who were NCAA D1 qualifiers this past season.

As good as Fix is I still can't pick against Lee, but look forward to a great match.

Our kids just won 7 in a row with Dippery, Parfumi, Perrotti and Delvecchio winning by tech fall and McCabe by pin. Grad tech'd to go into the semis and Giraldo won. Starting out to be a good day hopefully.

I did not watch so I could be wrong. We appear mediocre at best. We lost 7 close matches and won only 3 close matches. These results don't speak well for next year when on paper we should have our best team ever Maybe we don't take this as a serious tourney and we consider it as only an off-season work out. If true, that Perotti did not make weight, does not speak well for senior leadership or the coaches ability to motivate. Hope Perroiti was not hurt as he forfeited final match.

WNG - try to be objective. Are the coaches pleased with our progress ? Can we expect to be a top team next year ? Or will we remain mediocre ?

??? Don't act like this was Midlands. Nonetheless, who had any expectations that we would do really well? We did about what I expected. Close losses are better than getting techd. Hopefully, they get better & turn those into wins next time. We will not be a top team this season so why would you even ask? Did we magically just get infinitely better overnight? Get real. As for Perrotti, that's on him, not the coaches so stop the bullshit.

I wonder what the coaches think. Lips, you may be right that we should not expect much. Goodale has said we should a top team. Are his expectations realistic or are you right and his words are bs ? I don't know. Hopefully, WNG who has the coach's ear can throw some light on the question. Also, did Gravina get badly hurt ? Think he injury defaulted.

Personally I think this was a successful weekend for the program. And hopefully they can build off this. I went to past years results and just 2 years ago (2013) we didn't enter one kid.

Last year we entered 10 kids and yes we had 3 kids place, obviously Ash won the tournament. A Perrotti was 6th last year with a record of 4-3, this year he was 8th but with a record of 7-3. And the 3rd placer was Camp who also placed 6th last year.

This year we had 14 kids go out, I am not including Tyler Graff who wrestled as NYAC/SKWC and was wearing a SKWC singlet during the tournament (which he won). Last year we had 4 kids with 3 or more wins, this year we had 9 with 3 or more wins (5 kids had 4 or more) and this of course with not having Ash.

I think this shows improvement, as for being a top team this coming season or the next for that matter is really unrealistic. I think the program is heading in the right direction, we have 4 good kids committed for the class of 2016 and we need to build on that. As has been said in the "Recruiting Thread" the program needs money and I know that people are working on securing that money. That will enable the program to bring in coaches/athletes for SKWC. We have the talent in NJ/PA/NY so to steal a line from Field of Dreams, "if we build it they will come".

Thanks for all the updates and info everyone. Hey, those with a Flow subscription, how did the Lee- Fix match turn out?

Perrotti did not make weight so his performance up a weight has to be viewed as impressive. I hope he goes to 165 this year and Lewis at 157. I think Lewis will have a big year this year. We are getting better at 125 with McCabe so that is a plus. This is freestyle and some kids are better at that than the dual meet style. Are we better, yes. Are we a top team, no way. We need better kids from a recruiting point of view and we are working hard to get them. We need more money to fund better SKWC coaches who are national level kids to work with our guys. Gravina has those shoulder issues and I hope he did not aggravate it again. Scott is realistic and admits our limitations always He is no bs artist. I would not say we are a mediocre team which I think is an unfair critique. We had a decent record last year and held the national champs to a 5-5 dual meet score in terms of wins. Yes they did not have Stieber but that was not on us. Will we have a better dual meet record, yes. Will we have more than 1 AA, I hope so. We are trying and are moving in the right direction. Patience folks. If a 73 year old bastard can say that and mean it, I would think you young bucks could do so also.

Thanks for all the updates and info everyone. Hey, those with a Flow subscription, how did the Lee- Fix match turn out?

I didn't watch the match (plan to latter). But amazingly Dalton Fix won both matches (best of 3). Was losing first match 5-0 came back to win 5-5 (last one to score). And 2nd match was losing 4-0 and won 9-6.

Thanks WNG - I was justing reading Goodale's comments on the RU wrestling page that he said he thinks we are a top ten team and what he said on NJ.COM that we need to win the close matches we are losing. As you said, we need to be patient.

Gravina's good shoulder was a little sore so he defaulted. Good preventative move. Perrotti wrestled 3 matches in 30 minutes so the venue wanted to take a break and the team wanted to leave so AP defaulted.
