Best line of the Q&A. Every player says they want to run........So, Pikiell stops the tape and says, "You're jogging, You're jogging, You're jogging" !!!

The run is going to take time it seems. First ten are the players, second ten are Pikiells.

From my perspective, players want to run but are turning it over too much for it to be effective/help win you games.

Over time it will get better. But it has to be used in balance. Pikiell knows that. The players either listen to him, or learn the hard way.

Isn't it great to hear a coach clearly articulate the issues with the team and culture, the strengths and weaknesses, what he is trying to achieve, etc. He is everything we hoped we were getting with Rice but more mature, more articulate. You have to like this guy, the staff and the potential here.

I didn't watch the video but almost all kids say they want to run, they want to go to a program that gets up and down the court. But if you watch them play, they're jogging (like Coach said), the point guard is dribbling up court with his head down, a big man is slowly coming up court after almost hitting his head on the rim getting a rebound. The difference between what kids are doing versus what they think they're doing always shows up on tape.

Pikiell knows about "running" he played at UConn. Running and pressing, it's what the teams he played on did.
