Does Rutgers vs. Michigan State outdraw tonight’s Xavier vs. St. John’s at MSG?

Actually curious, Will the court have Rutgers graphics since it is a true home game? Or are we playing on the knicks floor, or some neutral college basketball floor?

Also, great to see we get the premiere CBS team, Ian Eagle, Rafferty and Jay Wright. That is worth recording and watching back when home

Last year our so cold home game at the garden welcomed Michigan band and cheerleaders. I better not see any of that nonsense this year

Hasn't had a game on CBS since the 80's and early 90's; that's crazy - and a little sad.

I was in attendance at that 1983 game as a high school student. Thought we had the lead late and lost the game as WVU went on a run. Man am I old.

I can’t wait to hear the broadcast team’s explanation for Rutgers surrendering home court advantage, again, at the RAC, to Michigan State. Did Izzo handpick the officiating team, too, that usually spends half the game conferring with him?

Exactly

How come no other team has to play a conference on a neutral floor??

How many home conference games did Michigan State give up?

Other teams do this. Villanova as an example. They play games at their primary arena (finneran) and they play games at the 76ers arena (Wells Fargo)

In football, there are even teams that play dedicated home games every single year in two stadiums. Arkansas plays at least 1 game a year at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium which is 3 hours from Fayetteville campus.

So it is done.

Not that I like it. But it’s done. I think there can be benefits to Rutgers in drawing a different fan contingent. We need all the fans we can get

JFC every day another embarrassing post from the peanut gallery. No excuse that the RU story got it wrong too. See Shelby's post above. Everyone here should know it's not Rafferty. Everyone.

So… Villanova and Arkansas play basketball in the BigTen?

I didn’t realize your question was limited to the big ten. Apologies — next time I’ll request more information or, better yet, a direct neural connection.

At least the games aren’t in London, Frankfurt, Dublin, La Ciudad de Mexico or wherever the NFL sends teams. Now THAT’S losing a home game.

You do not play conference games on a neutral court unless EVERY team does it every year.

Michigan/Michigan St in Detroit

Penn St in Philly/Pittsburgh

Maryland in Baltimore

Nebraska in Omaha

Purdue in Indy

Ohio State in Cleveland

And so on...

Understood Adolph Rupp. Thanks for letting me know

Penn St has been playing 1 Conference game/year at the Palestra, probably for the last 3 or 4 years, I believe. I know played IU this year. PU last year. MSU a few years ago. Not a fan of giving up a league home game. Maybe make it a big OOC game, so as to attract a big name opponent to MSG that won’t otherwise come to your home court?

I’m in the minority but I think the game at MSG is incredible and well worth it.

All bars and trains around the garden flooded with Scarlet. 16k in attendance in the worlds most famous arena being called by three legends on freaking CBS weekend game. I’m a season ticket holder forever and I’d gladly give up the home game to keep doing that. It’s so much more big time I’m sorry.
