2017 NWCA All Star Classic at Princeton 11/7

I think I know the last match of the evening: Kolodzik against Ashnault as Matthew attempts to unseat the reigning 141 pound National Champion in front of the hometown fans.

Don't get excited. Date of All Star Match will likely be changed once overlap is realized. This mistake is easily corrected. Don't Panic - yet.

Why do you think this ? At most RU will have Ashnault , and maybe one other wrestler high profile enough to even be in this.
I wonder if it's possible to have Ashnault wrestle at Yankee Stadium in the morning and get back to Princeton in time to wrestle later in the afternoon or early evening to wrestle again.?
Having the 2 events on same day could hurt attendance a bit for the All Star match. I do not think the morning match at Yankee Stadium against a relatively weak Maryland team will drawer well, especially when the the fans will be forced to remain inside for up to 2 hours see the Football game.

Richie Lewis was alread selected and won at the event. Chances of one of the two being invited are pretty high. Pretty sure we could beat Maryland without one of the two also.

Lewis was on the 'undercard' but still pretty impressive. Since the event is in NJ, and RU has the highest profile program (and fan support) you would think the NWCA will try to work the schedule to help the Ru wrestlers, but I kind of doubt they move the actual date. There are also some ranked wrestlers at Princeton and Rider I'm sure will be invited.

Richie Lewis might be able to qualify and if we get another AA besides Ashnault they would probably be eligible to receive an all star invitation too no?

Only problem is it is on the same day as our Maryland match at Yankee game.
It's 11/4 so you may want to update your date, but it still conflicts with the Big Ten Battle in the Bronx. I'm very interested in seeing if this gets changed but I doubt it as it looks like it's been the 1st Sat in Nov for a while now. If Ashnault wrestles in this, then many wrestling fans originally going to Yankee Stadium may skip the Bronx & go to Princeton.

You'd think they consulted with the B1G & possibly even Rutgers, since the B1G is the best conference & it's in NJ, but maybe not. Leonard, correct it has been the 1st Saturday in November for awhile. The reason it is that weekend is most teams do not have dual meets scheduled for opening weekend, they mostly go to open tournaments. Last year Ty Walz, from Va Tech, wrestled in the All Star dual and did not wrestle with Va Tech in their Dual that weekend. Most programs will send a wrestler to the Classic if invited because it draws national attention to your school. If AA is invited, I think Goodale will leave it up to AA to make the decision, but I bet he would go.

I'm sure AA would go to Princeton, which gives even more people a reason not to go to the Bronx.
