Rutgers Football HC Greg Schiano will speak with the media later today, but before that let’s send our guesses out there.

Who do your guys think will sign first today? Who are you most excited about?

Is it just me or has signing day become a non event? Maybe it’s my age or NIL, but I would always log in first thing. Would have missed it if it wasn’t for this thread.

Well there’s two now so it is a bit anticlimactic. Another thing is it’s relatively cut and dry. We used to always watch with anticipation because Schiano had a knack for flipping recruits at the last minute - that hasn’t happened recently.

It’s not you. Go back 5+ years and NSD was a very big event for college football. A lot of media coverage. Now it’s an afterthought. Part of it is the portal, NIL and the other is that with the early signing day, there is a lot of other things going on with upcoming championship games, playoff rankings, etc. Big difference from the first Wed in Feb.

be interesting if we get any surprise players. Always good to see a flip or two ... 🤞🙏

the @rfootball announcements might have meaningful content, but I wouldn't know because I don't listen to audio at work so I don't know what most of these are.

Twitter should be more poster/meme like - a punchy player photo and his name and basic info, and link to the long version.

This is IMO the best Rutgers class.....because I'm excited about at least eight recruits:
Braxton Kyle, Jaelyne Matthews, Talibi Kaba, Michael Clayton, Michael Thomas, Kamar Archie, DJ McClary, and Renick Dorilas.

I agree. Still waiting on Matthew’s and Kyle (as of 3pm) they have not signed. As a long suffering fan I am naturally worried.

Now that we just got done saying that (and I agree with you), it seems this early signing day has been more eventful than recent ones.

Kind of defeats the old negative "verbals mean nothing" mentality. RU only lost 1 kid who ended up being top 50 and went to his home state school (Georgia). Verbals are hugely important and a high percentage sign unless there is a coaching change.

Edit: Just saw we lost Forster who probably saw the depth we have at RB. I'll shut up as I feel I jinxed this.

Forster was injured most of this season & RU went hard after the Somerville RB Mitchell, who they flipped from WF

Schiano working his ass off for us, bringing in one of the best classes we ever had, after having one of the the best B10 season in Rutgers history. Schiano 2.0 trajectory is exciting and unlike other flavor of the month coaches, he is staying with us. The Dark Knight Rises.

If one was to go strictly by Rivals rankings, this class is #28.
The 2012 class was actually ranked #24. That class included Darius Hamilton (6.1), Chris Muller (5.9), Leonte Caroo (5.8), JJ Denman (5.8), Quanzell Lambert (5.8), Julian Pinnix-Odrick (5.7), Steve Longa (5.7), and Carlton Agudosi (5.7).
The 2025 class includes three guys rated at 5.8 and nine rated at 5.7.
