+ 2400 yards passing and 29 TD's as a sophomore, 6'3" and will be over 200lbs when he gets here. Nice transition from Surace to Him in 4 years. Greg and staff killing it on the recruiting trail.

Anyone want to give their opinion of Gavin vs AJ Surace?

I'd say they are fairly different overall. Surace has more mobility and likes to run when his primary options aren't open. Sidwar always has his eyes downfield looking to throw in almost every scenario. I think they are both pretty polished but at the same age, Sidwar is a little ahead of him as a thrower but not as athletic. To me, Sidwar is the type of QB you'd see in an air raid offense on a B12 team. He seems like a Mike Leach type of qb.

Here is a full game tape of him last season. His polish and accuracy are very obvious and on full display here. I don't remember an RU qb recruit looking this polished as a sophomore in high school in a very long time. Maybe Chas Dodd but he was much smaller and didn't have the same arm strength IMO. However, I think he needs to get the ball out a bit faster, he has a tendency to scramble and throw on the run a lot and won't have the same amount of time at the next level since he isn't as mobile as a true dual-threat.:
