3 things I liked, 3 things I didn’t like

I liked:

1. Yeboah. MVP tonight. 14 points on 5/7 shooting, 7 boards. Need this kind of game more consistently.

2. 23 FGs, 15 assists (Geo 4 assists, 0 TOs).

3. Geo’s hustle and highlight reel dunk late in the game.

I didn’t like:

1. 9-18 FTs. It’s really going to bite us in the ass at some point

2. Offense going into a shell and taking the air out mid second half with a 17 point lead. Just stay aggressive and step on their throats.

3. Geo or Caleb is going to have a knucklehead 10 second violation at some point this season. Caleb had to sprint at one point tonight (with no pressure from IU) to barely cross halfcourt.

As important as FT’s are there were many more good things than bad... enjoy the wins and realize this can be a special season ... turn the page and beat Minnesota in Sunday.

FT -- yes horrible... but, have to look at who was taking the early shots... not our best FT options.... more important was missing front end of 1-1 late...

The free throw percentage was even worse as 2 of the misses were the front end of the one and one. This is going to cost another game this year

1. Defense - great, great team effort
2. Yeboah - he was due and had a solid game.
3. Geo - two steals, great pass, incredible dunk.


I didn't like:

1. FTs - obviously, except at the end of the game
2. Mathis - I've been down on him all season and this game changes nothing. There's a reason everyone else, except Carter, had more minutes tonight.
That's it. Great win.

With Geo's return and Young's ascend, Montez is going to be looking at fewer minutes. He is struggling to finish at the offensive end, and is turnover prone. He really brings it on the defensive end and on the glass, but his offensive game must improve.

what is so great is that we are winning more than losing and there are still tons of things to clean up to be even better. Its almost as if we are just scratching the surface.

There is an issue developing with the team, shooting. They need some extra shooting drills.

We really don't have games where everyone plays well. We are just so deep now we always have at least 3 who typically do. If a team catches us on a night where more players play well or we actually get hot from 3 than they are running into a buzz saw. We are really tough to beat

The thing I like the most is that there are no more threads about how we need better 3 point shooters. Love the fact that everyone is going to the basket.
