According to the September 20, 1973 Targum, the second year of admitting women into Rutgers also brought this competition, “There will be a flag football game today at 6:00 p.m. on the Livingston campus football field between the girls of Clothier Hall and of the North Tower.” The October 25, 1974 Targum reported football on campus was still going strong, “… South Tower won the Meir’s Trophy competition edging Leupp Hall for the title. South Tower, though, lost the overall championships to Fiji, who had earlier taken the Keller’s Award with a 24-6 rout of Squamish.”

That must of been in the news section. I was the Targum sports editor for both of those dates and we only included coverage of official Intercollegiate sports plus the club hockey and rugby programs.
