...an underrated win IMO.

Luv the back flip that Munoz did in the End Zone after returning the onside kick for a TD with one minute to play.
Screw the flag.

THAT was a fun bowl trip. Drove down with the whole family and despite the chilly weather, missed the nor'easter back home.

Not being a jerk, but other than the fact we went to a bowl and won that year, not sure that any of us should view that bowl as too much of a positive.

I see that image and all I can remember is being so frustrated that the team continued not to play up to their expectations (for the season. ..not necessarily the bowl game)

In the December 19, 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl, Central Florida had narrowed Rutgers lead to 38-24 and attempted on onside kick. The ball deflected off the hands of one Rutgers player right to Damaso Munoz who returned it 35 yards for an eventual final score of 45-24. According to the ESPN.com boxscore of the game, 2:23 remained in the fourth quarter when the ball was initially touched and 2:16 remained when Munoz somersaulted into the end zone – using only seven seconds of game clock to do it.

...somewhat 'hear' what you're saying but outside of having our o-line back, we had some big losses on both O and D including Teel, Britt, Underwood, Tverdov, J-Mac and Greene. We should have been at least 1 win better but that UCF team ended up being 11-3 the next year and finished in the Top 25. It was a quality win.

For me, I look at the RA Bowl the way you described the '09 season. Outside of the Cincy game, our last 6 games that year were a GIGANTIC disappointment and an absolute waste of a great defense.
