9 OSU underclassmen have declared for NFL draft

Will be intereresting this spring, there will be some serious competition to fill those starting roles at DE, DB, and WR.

I guess they figure they got their ring and it's time to go. No chance any more for a threepeat.

And they play Oklahoma early in the season.

Nice to read - "Ohio State will need to quickly develop a lot of young talent, and for the second season in a row it loses a coordinator, with old Rutgers coach Greg Schiano replacing new Rutgers coach Chris Ash on defense."

It's a good move for both coaches and both schools as GS gets back into college coaching and Ash, as a young high energy, well organized guy, gets his chance to run a P5 program.

Cools beans !! Nine 4 or 5 stars get their chance to play next year rather than ride the bench.

.02

and, Go Cats !!

good...20 more leave and were on a level playing field!! [roll][roll][roll]

No problem. Their second team is better than most 1st teams

But it's very reasonable to assume even an elite team losing 15 starters just won't be as good as the previous squad. They were the starters for a reason. I don't care who you are, take away 9 defensive starters and it's going to take time to be up and running before you approach the same level.

Elliot, Bosa, Apple, Lee, and Bell? Those players don't grow on trees even in Columbus.

If all 15 stick in the league next season they will just about match all the RU grads currently in the league in terms of numbers. Just shows how wide the gap in talent currently is.

We should get out of the BIG. We have only one player who will get drafted but none in the first round.

We can't beat a "Dream Team."

That's a lot of talent to lose plus several staff changes. This should be a challenging year for tOSU, but if any teambcan adjust to that lose of talent they can.

Well...not all of them anyway [winking]

Status quo really. I expect they'll drop a couple games this year, but I also expected 2-3 losses in 2014.
It would get real interesting if Meyer left for the Browns.
Still not happening.

Buckeye here. Agree. Anyone that thinks even OSU can lose players of this caliber without missing a beat is crazy. Will they be good/solid in 2016 - of course. BUT, I really look for the beginning of 2016 to resemble 2014: shaky at first with all of the new talent, but vast improvement as the year progresses. Something even crazier: OSU will have ONLY 5 seniors - 4 if Cam Burrows doesn't get his med redshirt/waiver - on their roster next year. So, 2017 should be an improvement over 2016. Of course, that's what we thought this year.

The NFL needs to draft high school players to play in a minor league with 4 games played each night Mon-Thur televised nationally on FOX or NBC Sports.

With those players going pro, then we'll have a chance.
