I was at The Four Phantoms show at Borgata last night 8/7/16
and one of the performers did this classic song from Showboat.
In the introduction they mentioned Showboat and I immediately thought of Robeson

Whenever I see Robeson sing that song, it still gives me goosebumps. The man was a legend as a football player, scholar and performer. Yes, he was controversial, but I believe his attributes to Rutgers, to the stage and even to the legal community cannot be undermined by his communist ties.
