A couple of interesting Keith Sargeant tweets

I believe this is a close estimate of past Rivals **** rankings from 2012-2013-2014... I did not include the last class of 2016 since only D.Bailey ( 2 **) is probably going to play early...total of 18-19 players in this class ... this group is considered by some on this board as not being B1G players..

Oh lord he we go again. Where did anybody say any such thing?

Please ...nobody is accusing you of anything so leave me alone...I 'm expressing that there are those on this FREE board who feel our talent level from Flood's recruiting is inferior...I for one disagree with that thinking...nobody was talking to you or referring to you...I posted a list of the Rival's rated players from 2012-2016...you are now insulting me...I stopped posting for about 7 months ...now after 2 months back you attempt to question my comments...you are acting like a child...

All I did was ask you a question, which you obviously can't answer, not sure how that's "acting like a child" and how on EARTH is that "insulting" you?

p.s. - good to see you're still kissing Flood's ass and, btw, most of the free world agrees that Flood's recruiting was inferior, but good for you sticking your guns Bob. That's one thing about you that I can respect!

For the next 3 years, we will continue to hear about "Flood bad," every time some aspect of a game go well or a part of the team does not play well. But he will never get credit for recruiting some of the solid players on the team like Hicks, Martin, Sneed, etc, etc, etc.
Well I would think his job description was more than just finding a few diamonds in the rough. Rather I'm sure it was fielding a complete and competitive team. A few hidden gems is nice, but they don't make a team, which you need to win.

I think we can agree he failed on the complete team part. Finding a few solid pieces when your trying to field a team is hardly praise worthy. Especially when you get roughly 25 chances a year to find those solid players. He simply missed too many times, for his few finds to be noteworthy.

Stud athlete. He played 4 sports by playing Baseball and getting his track work in early mornings. Article up on him today.
Underrated, only a 2 Star recruit, but in 4 sports. He's now our first and maybe only 8 STAR guy. Most big name P5' s stop at 5 Star.
Another feather in our helmet. Go RU.

I think the best way to think about the Flood years is to think about his recruiting and development of his kids as well as Schiano's kids. I tend to look at numbers of kids that make it to the NFL. I conclude:

1. Schiano's recruiting was slipping as the Big East was collapsing or if it wasn't, Flood did not develop kids like Schiano did previously. Our NFL numbers are down and will continue to be down.

2. Flood clearly did not benefit from the B1G entrance from a recruiting perspective or from an recruiting analyst perspective and did not recruit as well as Schiano.

3. Due to either recruiting during his first years or lack of development, there are virtually no Flood recruits that now catch the eye of national reporters or show up on college watch lists this year.

Slice it how you want but either he couldn't recruit, develop or both. We all agree on that. Let's stop trying to split hairs about how miserable he left things.

I think you missed my point. I have a saying at work and in life-play the hand you are dealt, and don't whine about it. We know that overall recruiting while Flood was head coach slipped. There are numerous reasons for this-first, Flood inherently could not close the deal on verbal commits. Now part of this was Flood and on the field performance. But part of it was Julie was not doing Rutgers any favors, and there was also the faux Cohen abuse scandal. Remember what Wiegers said when he bailed? Now, this is not making excuses for Flood--he cooked his own stew, but there were a lot of lousy ingredients in that stew that contributed it to being lousy.

Back to the original point--it gets a bit tiresome to hear the cries of Flood's recruits suck, or the team is weak because they are Flood's recruits, or Ash's 2 star recruits are superior to Flood's 2 star recruits-that was hilarious. There is some good (actually a fair amount of good players) in those classes.

Stop acting like such a sissy.

That's because Carroo was able to make acrobatic catches from all the wounded ducks that Laviano was throwing.
The other WRs were not able to that. Hopefully the new Offense makes up for the deficiency we have in the QB accruacy.
I did not see that many acrobatic catches last year. I did think Laviano under threw many passes which was more about timing and getting the ball out on time thank throwing "wounded ducks" I did not see many poor throws per se. Watch the film boys.
