Quick Background:

Loyal son of Rutgers, former RU men’s basketball manager, and current Central Regional history teacher / varsity girl’s hoops coach Dan Torsiello co-founded The Kivu Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is changing lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Kivu Project succeeded in building a new school in rural Mushaki, DRC in 2022. With the help of some donations from RU, the school included basketball hoops and equipment. This year Dan and The Kivu Project are fundraising to build an orphanage and medical center.
