Even after losing IU fans can't get over the fact Sanders and Geo outplayed IU guards in every way tonight. Instead, they are reaching for any and every excuse to fool themselves into thinking the game was a fluke. It's all so funny to hear this. I recall reading the same sh*t on Minnesota's board as well as Wisconsin's board too.[roll][roll][roll][cheers]

Have you read or heard anything from IU fans?

It would be so weird if they continued to say how our guards suck as Corey posterizes their best player and sinks clutch shot over after over. What a strange group of fans.

Maybe it was just my section, but the Hoosiers around me couldn't have been nicer.

We had a lot of give and take during the game, but they were all pretty friendly. I know I wouldn't have been as classy if the situation was reversed.

Most delusional basketball fans in the conference. Their fans think they are Duke, Kansas, or North Carolina. They just don't win like them.

There’s still a lot of hate out there for the mere IDEA that the B1G expanded to Maryland and NJ. There have been articles from Indiana sites this week expressing extreme resentment that they have to play Rutgers in a midweek conference game in NYC.

On one site (the IU version of On the Banks), even their mods’ articles refer to us disparagingly as “rutger”. The level of disparagement is extreme, a lot like the Syracuse writers and fans used to refer to us as rutgirls.

We were also listed as “Rutger” on the SB nation site in B1G Tournament Bracket earlier in the week. Maybe that’s the singular version of the name. It’s still better than “Ruckers”.

Perception matters in sports and Rutgers based on past history doesn't match schools like Indiana in basketball.Winning changes perception but it must be consistent winning and not a couple of upset wins in the league tournament. It starts by having a winning season and then by winning at least 6 conference wins.Right now Rutgers is viewed as a bottom tier basketball program and opposing fans aren't going to give Rutgers any credit right now.In the end what really matters is the perception of top tier recruits(4 star) because they are the type of players that will move Rutgers up the league rankings.

Indiana fans are just jealous. They were the Big Ten's red-headed stepchild until Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers showed up.

Indiana should shut up. Try playing the women's tournament at UCONN every year. That is a joke.

Rather than focus on the state of Indiana and its fans , just focus on how good it feels to watch a less talented team rise up and make everyone , especially Rutgers fans , proud of their accomplishment. Impressive how Pikiell is able to get so much out of this team. We're fortunate to have him as our coach. At some point the balloon will burst, hopefully not tonight , but it will leave a positive feeling heading into the post season. My how things and perceptions can change literally overnight.

I couldn’t make the late night game but I watched the entire game and the post game show. The commentator said “there is very little difference in the middle seeds and the bottom seeds” in the B1G. I totally agree.

We scored 33 more points on them than we did less than a month ago when we were on our home court. The joke is clearly on them.

I was reading their board on the train ride home last night after the game and on one thread 2 posters called us an abortion and this was after the game occurred. I'm sitting in sec 108 which is the primary Rutgers section and I had to advise an Indiana fan to shut up when he was complaining why we were standing so much . After the game I made it my point to tell him how much I enjoyed the game and the look on his face was priceless as he seemed to be in shock that we won and beat his beloved Hoosiers.

We sat in section 108. The IU fans escorted out walked right past us. Clear example of too much booze and not enough common sense.

As for the fans in general, we had PSU sitting on both sides, they stayed until about halftime. They were rooting hard for us. That was even after we rooted for Northwestern. Maybe they kept it clean and respectful as we had what looked like a 10 year with his mother rooting for Northwestern and the kid just about cried when they lost.

The IU fans sitting behind us were shocked by the run to bring us back in the game. They simply couldn't understand and kept saying, "we read you have no offense!".

On to Purdue and tomorrow.

IU fans were salty last night for sure! It was entertaining to watch. The smug giddiness early on by a few sitting near us quickly turned to frustration and disbelief.

Heading back tonight and hoping our fans show up... weather be damned!

good, we need another rivalry! If we could make something of PSU, MD, and Indy that would be great.

(unlike football, I happen to like the PSU bball team).

I think not wearing their red and white striped pants when they came out last night came back to haunt them.
