people are dying, and the idiot parade is whining about the media. the bolt-action/ar15 text was a direct quote from a family member. who gives a ****ing shit if they can't properly recognize the gun??
the old morons here have to turn everything into some kind of political battle.
truly a moron. you can quite easily get a bolt action upper for the ar15.Wow.
You're so not very bright, are you?
It wasn't a political statement at all. My point was that the media printed something that was wrong. Period end.
And frankly, it doesn't matter if they attribute it as a quote from somebody. It's wrong. Once upon a time there used to be this thing called "fact checking". We all learned it. Media doesn't have that role anymore. Which is why media is now useless.
truly a moron. you can quite easily get a bolt action upper for the ar15.
secondly, when someone says it's possibly one thing or the other, how can that be "wrong"? without eyes on the scene, that's the best info they had. they reported it. case closed.
and finally, like i said before - who gives a ****ing shit? clearly you and nobody else.
and you say "the media" is what's useless. You mad, bro?
Take a nap.

"the media" gives the people what they want. if they didn't, they'd die. media coverage is by definition a reflection of society. if you don't like it - tough shit, you'll deal. or not. nobody cares either way.
The average person interested in the story does not really care if the AR-15 is bolt action rifle or not. What matters is a lunatic with a dangerous weapon is intent on killing more people. It is a breaking news story and they got the news up as fast as possible. The story appears to have been edited.
News reporters make these types of errors all the time when discussing fire apparatus. Ladder apparatus are called "trucks" and pumpers are called "engines,", and they rarely get that right. Also, they often report that firefighters wear oxygen tanks when fighting fires, when we wear compressed air cylinders--but we don't blow a gasket and critique when they get it wrong. These are esoteric details that only experts notice.
Hope that all of the police, fire, EMS and other emergency personnel and neighbors stay safe.

Sometimes he uses the melted one for his icon, and sometimes he uses the non-melted one. I noticed that when Flood did good the non-melted one appeared. Flood must not have done anything good lately for KS.Wait, you're a firefighter? When you said the Kyle Flood doll burned up "in a fire at work", was it actually in your pocket?

Yes, a volunteer firefighter for 31 years. No, Kyle Flood bobble head did not burn up in my pocket. I work in an office, and Kyle Flood and Dwight Gooden bobbleheads were on my desk when the office was destroyed by fire. Dwight Gooden and Kyle's body were MIA, but I found Kyle's head when I was salvaging items from my office.Wait, you're a firefighter? Let's just all agree that the absence of the phrase "assault rifle" is a net positive in the coverage of this.

I'm a glass half full kind of fan. I don't get worked up one way or another when the team is doing great, mediocre or bad. Whether the clean bobblehead or the burned one is in my avatar is more my read of the board sentiment. Kind of like one of those German weather houses.
Put the good one up, since recruiting has been going relatively well. But if you look closely, the clean one has red blotches on Kyle's neck. Don't know what that is about.
You mad, bro?

I can!I seriously can't believe that this thread is focused on this.
For those interested in what happened:
Shooter apparently killed himself and the two people he shot are dead.

10 bucks says: gunman on antidepressants, history of mental illness, weapon was legally obtained. Prayers to the victims.

Threads like this are why I am considering taking a break from this board.
If you took a break every time someone like these idiots went OT to show how much smarter they are, you'd never be here.
Innocent people were murdered but let's focus on arguing over the weapon used. Typical nonsense.
Holy false outrage. It's not like we're at a funeral here. I didn't see some of these people complain when the president paraded newtown families around the country in an effort to guilt congress into passing rapid and thoughtless gun control laws without discussion.
