If Addazio is let go, and the pressure is building: RU MUST go after their DC Don Brown who I consider one of the best in the business.

I am not hearing any rumblings of him being let go up here.

I'd take Addazzio as our HC in a heartbeat

I've mentioned Don Brown here a couple times if we happen to go with an offensive head coach. We should make a play for him regardless of Addazio being fired or not. He was a name I brought up, Phil Snow Temple's DC and central jersey's own Mike Elko down in Wake Forest. I think any of these could make solid DCs to go along with a offensive HC.

Yes. But we did dodge a bullet not getting Addazio as our coach.

Sorry I'll pass. If you watched the BC game Saturday's this guy is a complete head case. Screaming like a moron. He's a dirtball coach IMO

BC has the worst offense in Div. I. They have no QB who can play at that level. The kid who started for them on Saturday is a walk on. My local HS team played against that kid and Flutie's nephew in HS. I could tell they weren't Div. I QB's at that time. It makes me wonder about Addazio'sability to evaluate talent.

really? Why? What has he done that makes him desirable? Win at Temple with Golden's players? Lose miserably at BCU?

FWIW I didn't want him last coaching search either.

BTW another "MAC coach of the week" failure.

Isn't the OP just suggesting a DC? I don't think anyone wants Addazio or this guy as HC (I hope).

BC is missing their first string QB, TE, RB, 1 OL and many more on the 2 deep on defense.

Tough to judge him on the results of this season.

He wouldn't be my first choice but his kids play hard and he often plays well against the best teams with way inferior talent. The two years prior to his arrival BC had won 2 and 4 games. He went and won 7 games each of his first two seasons while implementing and entirely new system. He lost to USC by 6, Clemson by 4, and FSU by 3. As noted, he is playing with a 4th string walk on QB and his kids are still playing hard.

I think Addazzio can be a good coach and leader. The question for me would be is he a good recruiter? Just curious how do we rank against BC in recruiting?

I'd say we're missing at least that much as well & we started the year with 1 of the most inexperienced teams that Phil Steele rated us 112th most experienced with only 10 returning starters & it would be even lower without Hamilton & the dismissed players.

Addazio is NOT getting fired. This season was going to happen at some point and is directly related to injuries (QB1, RB1, TE1) and having to turn over the entire offensive line because of Spaziani's recruiting holes.

Brown is 60. Has done the HC thing. Hes coaching at home now. I cant imagine at this age and point in his career he would ever even think of taking over the dumpster fire at Rutgers (or a head job anywhere).

that's nice.

What's the point?

I don't want Brown as HC, I'm talking about a lateral move as DC. Don't know how much he's being paid at BC though. Same for Phil Swow or Mike Elko at WF. I think these guys could be solid DCs to be paired with an offensive HC if we go that route.

He had to suffer through 2 years at BC until the talent caught up to his scheme (and current players picked up his scheme). I think its the same argument, at this point in his career, would he want to start over from scratch anywhere ? Despite not disclosing salary information, I know from people close to the program that BC is fairly competitive in re: to HC compensation and ass't compensation and the University is going to be investing in facilites in the upcoming years.

I personally don't think he's leaving a good situation at BC (on a number of levels, both football and personal) to what is arguably a lateral move at best.

Losses to #1 Clemson, #4 ND and #9 FSU by 17,3,14....34 pts total.......a lot better then we do. Great clip of him on saturday after a clear interference call lip reading "mother f'er", week before a call against him and clearly shouts "F You" to a ref........Politi would love having here.

BC lost there starting QB for the year (had no one but true frosh on the roster) and their top 2 RB/s. They will be fine, esp with that D.

Brown has said he just wants to be a DC and is from Boston.

Who's fault is that. Coach is responsible to recruit for these contingencies. Flood is

That a lot of our issues this year are due to inexperience, injuries & roster issues too. The excuse goes both ways here.

I wasn't making a comparison between Flood and Addazio.

I was just pointing out that a superficial look at Addazio's record this year is misleading. They've been devastated by injuries, many of which happened once the season started.

Flood's supporters point out the suspensions to cover his ineptness .
BC supporters claim it's the previous coach's fault depth is so bad.
But Addazio left Temple after going 4-7 his second year there (9-4 his first)
and 3-8 in his third ,after two 7-6 seasons at BC.

Doubt BC will let him go, but don't think he's on any P-5 school's short list that's looking for a HC.

Nice try as I'm not a Flood supporter, but people have to at least be realistic with what we had to work with & loom at the facts that it wasn't nearly as much as everyone thinks. Nonetheless, give me Babers, Campbell or another O coach.

Was talking in general without a specific poster in mind.
Actually didn't even remember your post, when saying what I said.
But can see why you thought I called you a Floodie after going back and checking your post.
Not the case , though it might have looked like it.
