Ahmed Bah Decommits

I wouldn't give him a hard time. A lot of things could have happened. Bah may have been close with Flood and is concerned about a change in offense or a staff he doesn't know. Maybe he was encouraged to look elsewhere because he didn't fit in with what the staff was looking for. None of us know. A change in staff is bound to create some turnover...so wish Bah the best and move on.

Bah is probably a nice guy and player....but, Spread offenses needs fast, shifty guys that excel in open space. Bah is a 6'4" . . Ash called commits yesterday....maybe he does not fit with the new offense.

I wish him the best of luck.

Anyone that faults a kid for decommitting must be a troubled soul. You don't know what his prior relationship with the outgoing coaching staff is, do you? Meanwhile, you've probably never even laced them up on a football field before, have you?

Let the kid be.

You couldn't qualify to be a cheerleader for Wagner, let alone actually receive a scholarship offer from Wagner.

So you know all his offers? I doubt that someone with no other offers would decommit unless 1. They had other D1 offers or 2. The new coach told him he is not wanted.
I can't imagine that Ash had time to review all recruits film and tell someone he is not wanted. No way he reviewed every recruit this quickly.

I wouldn't worry at all about this year's class. With a new coach you're going to get decommits and transfers out, it's just the nature of the beast.

Laced them up for thirteen years, including college in D1, tough guy.

If he decommitted because Ash let it be known there wasn't a place for him, I'll change my tune. Otherwise, if he doesn't want to be here, then see ya, but as I said best of luck to him.

I'm a legacy since my father went there, so I could probably get on the cheerleading squad. 4Real would be blowing my phone up, so I would definitely be making friends.

Love how everyone assumes that he decommitted because he didn't fit or Ash didn't want him. Perhaps not everybody thinks Ash is a god just yet like some people here. Holy hell yes just a kid and they can get swayed by anything

I was happy to have Bah because it secured Mack for us. Mack is incredible.

I just watched Bah's senior tape for the first time and he has improved dramatically from last year. He improved his route running, body control, hands. His speed off of the line is incredible, I hope we resecure his commitment.

It does not take a brain surgeon to deduce that a 6'4 straight ahead runner and receiver may not be the best fit for a Spread type offense that thrives with guys that excel in open space.

Agree that Bah's tape was unimpressive. Mack is a lot better. I have been saying that to friends since he first committed. Bah is a step slow and stiff. Other that his height, not sure what the staff ever saw in him.

These kids commit to a coach and staff. Now that they're gone of course many are going to reconsider. Whether or not you like to hear it, RU isn't OSU, Michigan, ND or places like that where recruits are already sold on the program. Most kids need to be convinced to come to Rutgers and the one's who did the convincing are no longer here.

Before we all go into panic mode or start ripping this or that kid let's all take a breath. Consider what these young men are going through and try to be a little understanding. Let it play out.

I don't care if you are running the Pro, Delaware, spread, Wing T or wish bone, any coach would love a 6'4 kid who can run and tower over 5'9 DBs.

Who knows what was said. He's estimated 40 is 4.7. But you know how these reported numbers work.

But who knows. Good luck to the kid.

As said above some will come some will go, it will even out. If you listened to Coach Ash yesterday and still de-committed today maybe it's not such a bad thing.

I'd like to hear Ash is going to go after all the big guys

Go get Ron Johnson and Hawkins out of Camden.

Good point....but, keep in mind, spread does not rely on big guys towering over receivers. It's more crossing routes and guys that can get separation.

we could use a few open schollies for new HC Ash to fill...
We have plenty of open schollies, we had a bunch of guys kicked off the team before the season which opened up a bunch of schollies not sure if you've heard about that whole thing.

I don't think his future was going to be a wr.
I think the plan was 2 years in the weight room and emerge as a 6'4 235 receiving tight end.

Decommits happen with coaching changes. Frankly, given Flood's track record, I expected a handful of decommits closer to signing day even if he hadn't been fired (you couldn't convince me he was ever going to keep players like Rene). No recruit is bigger than the program; this is all just a necessary consequence of bringing in new blood.

Thanks for freeing up another scholarship Ahmed, and best of luck to you wherever you land. Next.

I never thought about the open scholarships available do to those incidents leading to multiple players being removed from the team. Do we expect a class somewhere between 25-30 recruits? That's gotta be awesome for a coach in his 1st year. A lot of work of course but he can really prove his eye for talent and get a lot of guys that at least fit with his strategy.

I'd hope that we'd save some and wouldn't extend offers just to get warm bodies. If Ash can close on some top recruits in the final months, great, but if not, I don't want him taking a bunch of two-star "diamonds in the rough" ("The Kyle Flood Special") just because we have the space. I'd like to see what he can do with a boatload of scholarships for the class of 2017.
