Alex Barbir

I stated that once Ash got hired, this is the #1 recruit that the coaching staff had to keep committed because his accuracy at a far range would make the most impact in games next year. His ability takes a lot of pressure off of the offense to have to score touchdowns every single drive and the fact that the offense doesn't have to drive all the way to the 20 to get into FG range.

Looking at his highlights, Barbir is the biggest get for the 2016 class because he will make the biggest impact the earliest out of any of the recruits

Can't say enough about special teams. I really think we hit the jackpot with this kid. Of our targets, new assistant Vince Okruch visited to keep him on board. Happy to see him sign in February. See linkie below.

I went to a couple of Forsyth South's games and every kickoff is a highlight. Typical tweet is Touchback...What else is new?" He looks like he's made of rubber. I really think he was underutilized in the field goal dept, though.

This is great news! The kicking game is so important and so underrated! Welcome to the Banks, Alex. Looking forward to four years of 50 yarders!

More than a little wind at his back in that 71 yard field goal. But still impressive. Excellent get and can be a huge difference maker for RU. It's probably smart for him too - he'll get a lot of chances to showcase his talent at RU.

Hope he ends up with a nickname of Dr. Touchback, or something like that.

It's been a while since we've had a place kicker who could make a difference - The Judge and San San Te are the last ones who could do that.

Meh.. I wouldn't compare the latter with the former at the same level.

Barbir should be a huge asset for RU in the years to come. Can't wait to see him start booting it next year.

Wow, he posted a photo of him with Blair Walsh and tweeted about the miss being mental.

First of all, it's got to be pretty great to have a chance to meet or get to know pro kickers while still in high school.....second of all, it's interesting he has insight and perspective already.
