Did Issa really shoot 18% from 3pt range? Ouch. Though I still think his defense justifies his playing time.

Williams outrebounded Gettys, in 27mpg vs 22mpg.

Corey needs to shoot above 40% to be worthy of 2nd or 3rd team. I think he's capable.

You need to be lockdown city. Marquis Webb on his best day to be effective with his offense

Blackmon should have been 1st team from an opponents POV. Nigel Hayes didn't deserve even honorable mention.

Give me 5 teams of 3 and cut the crap with honorable mention. Have coaches ONLY vote with a secret ballot. You wouldn't see McIntosh Hayes or Blackmon. I like McIntosh and would love him on my team. He was NOT a top 15 player in B1G. Especially not a top 7 or 8 guard.

So why are Maryland fans such jerks? Well when you finish 2nd place again and only have ONE player on any of the B1G all-conference teams, but he's not POY, nor is your coach COY, you get seriously pissed off. So how the **** did we manage 2nd place if Melo is not player of the year if the rest of our team was average? Then wasn't our coach just amazing? Pitino didn't deserve it over Turgeon since MD was predicted to finish 10th, let alone Collins who should have won it who took NW the tournament for the first time in history. Now bulletin board material and more juice to just make us even bigger jerks for the next year.

B1G Standings:

Purdue 14-4 (25-6)

Maryland 24-7 (12-6)

Wisconsin 23-8 (12-6)

Minnesota 23-8 (11-7)

Northwestern 21-10 (10-8)

Michigan 20-11 (10-8)

Iowa 18-13 (10-8)

MSU 18-13 (10-8)

Illinois 18-13 (8-10)

Indiana 17-14 (7-11)

PedState 14-17 (6-12)

Nebraska 12-18 (6-12)

Rutgers 14-17 (3-15)

Your gripe should be about the freshman. Huerter, imo, was the 2nd best freshman in the B1G and Cowan was a no doubt about it All-B1G frosh. Turgeon should have gotten more respect. He did a really good job this season. McCaffrey has a similar gripe. But you can't think Dodd or Gill or Brnder deserved recognition, right?

I'm a Maryland guy. I'm not angry. I really don't care about these awards. But it *is* odd that a team that finished second, with three freshmen starters, had zero players on the all freshmen team, while an also-ran had two. Also odd that Ward from Michigan State wasn't named.

About the COY -- I actually think your guy should have gotten it because of the difference he made. If not that, Collins had a milestone accomplishment (or will next Sunday, I should say). Edit: I can see Pitino getting this, that really is a huge jump in a single year and they are going to be a tough out in the BTT.
