In the 2022 indoor season Bridgett had a season best of 26'0 which was tied for the 6th best over the season. Of the top seven either tied or leading Bridgett were 1 junior, 1 soph and two freshmen. Bridgett finished 4th in the NCAAs indoors and all three ahead of him were underclassmen. Only 1 of the top ten which included Robinson also was a senior. Bridgett finished 6th outdoors and 6 of the top ten were underclassmen. The winning jump indoors was 26'0 which ties Bridgett best. Outdoors the top 3 were all over 26 feet. The third place finisher in the indoor championship had a season best over 27 feet. Bridget had the 12th best season jump of 26'1 3/4 outdoors.
Bottom line Bridgett could win an NCAA championship, but he may need a career best in the meet. There are a number of returning athletes who have better career bests. He has improved his best every year and his series in the opening meet was promising with all of his jumps over 25 feet. At this Robinson's best is a little shorter than Bridgett and is not as consistent. The things to look for is are the distances getting longer over the course of the season and are their series consistent. Multiple jumps in a longer range is better than 1 outlying jump during the season as a predictor.
