The worst case scenario is basically happening, everyone wanted to poo poo this whole thing, even I thought it seemed minor but maybe just maybe we let investigations do their job without our own fanbase and alums trying to put the squeeze on the administration. They did the right thing here and it may get worse for Flood.

I am curious to see what hacks like Politi and Tara have to say now. Are they still calling for Barchi and Julie to go...leopards don't change their spots so I expect them to move onto the next targets

you said it well on another thread that to many posters are more concerned about pushing their agenda than the truth. Anyone who has ever followed sports or politics knows if you come out in support of someone BEORE the investigation is done you are bound to get screwed by the unknown. I like Flood, want him to succeed, and truly feel he was doing what he thought was best for his player but he doesn't come off well in that report.

Completely agree. I've said this before. There's too much need for now now now I want to hear a statement of support now, investigation over now, everything now. Never let's take a step back and be thoughtful and measured especially in the face of a hostile media. It's society being society and fans being fans but step back and take a breath.

guys like you who put a lot of faith in Flood are the ones really devastated tonight so I feel for you

as you know I wasn't a Flood fan but when this came out I did make a thread saying we need to circle the wagons and at least support everything Rutgers until stuff came out that says we didn't..that included Flood...but circling the wagons means not calling out the AD and Barchi...we have the media hacks doing that..we don't need a guy like Ohara with a large voice going out on twitter and causing divisions. I have not even looked at twitter yet but you know what I imagine the same divides are still there.

The leak was devastating, having to deal with the speculation about this for so long is awful, as I had no doubt that this same punishment would have been rendered even it wasn't news fodder already.

Agreed with you then and now. Flood's toast and Julie was smart to not comment before the investigation was done. She now better hope she's covered her own arse properly, i.e., if she was aware of some of the "bad decisions" Flood made and didn't do anything to investigate/reprimand, then she could be toast, too. Hopefully, she responded properly as soon as she became aware of any of his errors in judgment.
