Anthony Davis on Schiano and Harbaugh....

I love AD's honesty. Not just that he shares his opinion clearly but he also is smart enough to get that he may not be perfect and he was focused on winning regardless.

The truth is he did not burn any bridges. Both men know who and what they are, Davis's candor would not stop either coach from working with AD in the future.
All great/good coaches have egos.... the great/good one do not let their egos get in their way of success.

C'mon, that's just stupid. Coaching is a small fraternity and there is no reason to piss off someone who could potentially impact your future playing, coaching, broadcasting, etc. Perfect example of why celeb's should double triple-check everything they post before they hit the GO button.

At the end of the day. Schiano and Harbaugh get it done. The 49ers and Bucs are looking like two of the poorest run franchises right now.

Very true- playing nice doesn't get wins. Flood is a great example.

How do you know the coaches don't like being viewed as tough pains in the butts? Calling them aholes doesn't mean he doesn't respect them as coaches. True leaders don't worry about such things. So if my comment is stupid. Yours is shallow. :boxing: na, na , na... (LOL)

A coaches job is to teach players to be better players. When I was in college to be an educator, one of my professors told us that we "were not there to be their friends, but to teach". Truth is that you will not be everyone's favorite no matter who you are. But, many people who remember the teachers that had the most positive impact on them may not have been the ones most liked.

Here's my question: Why did AD feel the need, right now, do "tweet" that? Did he wake up and simply feel the need to be an a-hole - truthful or not - for no reason? Weird.

Many NFL players are real critical and outspoken. Didn't Darrell Revis complain about Bellichick and Schiano.

Look at how many QBs got injured this year. There is a lack of top end Olinemen. There will be plenty of teams after him for next year.

Maybe. It is still childish and unproductive. It isn't professional.

Someone asked whether or not he could play for Chip Kelly (assumption is he's difficult)... So he replied he was used to playing for difficult coaches. It wasn't out of nowhere.

ahhhh sorry missed that! Still a-hole'ish but okay!

It actually wasn't, because it was totally in context - the context being "hey, everybody knows that Chip Kelly is an asshole, but I played for Harbaugh and Schiano, too, and they're both assholes."

Lots of coaches are. Herm Edwards is one of the biggest dicks I've ever met.

There are worse things to be called than being called an A- hole. For me, if any of assistants called me that, I would not care as long as they work hard and I work hard. The work gets done and you can still respect the person even if he or she is an A- hole.

Hypothetical- after your third blunt of the day you might be loose enough to say anything

I always love it when posters who come here to continually express their opinion are outraged at someone expressing their opinion.

He's a big badass football player, not a Downton Abbey cast member. Why be surprised?

Anyone else find it ironic that AD finds Chip Kelly, Greg Schiano and Jim Harbaugh as difficult coaches to play for (all with several levels of success) but was a walking billboard for how great Flood was to play for?

Not a fan of those type of remarks and don't think it in anyway enhances his market value yet maybe he does not care about that. He will certainly get a contract but to the extent he has choices on where to sign, this can only have a limiting impact on interest. I think the Niners probably do retain his rights so maybe a mute point.

Seems like Davis only called them what many posters have been calling both of them.[laughing]
The key point is he didn't knock their coaching ability and praised one of them calling him a great coach. Being called a good coach isn't to shabby either.

BTW, wasn't AD the player that went over to protect Harbaugh end game running off field when the then coach from the Lions went after him (Harbaugh) a few years ago?
