Anthony Perotti..thats right..you are the man!!

I'm going to miss AP next year, just enjoy watching his passion !
Abro..he could really place high if stays focus and wrestles this intensely.I think the only guy he has no shot at beating is Ringer.I think if he meets Isaac Jordan again, and wrestles like that,he'll beat him.If..and this is a big if..Perrotti wrestles like that I think he'll place top 5.I'm thinking 6th place, but hoping for top 5.Ash looked better tonight. That was a tough kid he wrestled,in Sabatello.

I was going to say the kid Sabatello is no cream puff and he handled him quite well and sealed the major late in the third. The match was never in doubt but we needed him to finish out strong which he did.

AP just has "it" this season. His confidence is sky high right now. Last season was so frustrating because you saw the ability in him but he would go into these funks. He then goes and gets the big win vs. Ohio St then has a poor tournament. However he's been focused all season and I would be shocked if wasn't in the thick of things come nationals. If the brackets work in his favor, he could get hot right into the semis. We shall see.

Not sure how the Big 10s will work out, as it's a grind , but I think at MSG AP will shine under those very big lights w somewhat of a home mat/ arena familiarity. Would love to see him be a double AA !

I think last year,Perrotti got very content with being an AA the year before, plus maintaining that 157lb weight was wearing on him.Don't you remember all those instances of Goodale nicely saying he was PO'd that Perrotti was not making weight,or at the least not eating right.Kind of felt as if he just wanted too get the NCAA's over with. This year,he is stronger,so much more focused, and looks very healthy.I don't want too jinx this, but outside of Coon( who is on a whole different planet with respects too talent),I think Billy Smith, for the first time in his career,is peaking at the right time. Those two guys he beat,Goldman and Anen are no push overs. He got a little sloppy today, but could of taken that kid down from Purdue, all day long. The kid from Purdue has some solid wins and BS pretty much kick his arse.I can't see Billy being a top 3 at Big 10's,but a 5th place finish is no to far out of reach.Mccabe is in some sort of slump.Every wrestler has them. He'll make adjustments. The one that worries me the most is Giraldo. He keeps getting beat, when he has the upper hand, and it is always in the last couple of seconds. The kid is right there to Dark Horse AA,he just has too come with it.The wisest decision the coaching staff has too do,is rest Gravina and Ashnault.,AA looked much crisper today with his attacks, but is still not 100%.Gravina's injury can really be a deal breaker if it is not rested.I've been there, and it really screws with your chances of performing.Right now,the boys are looking great. Now,let's keep the momentum going into the later parts of the season.

AP was terrific. I know he was pumped by the fall but i could have done without the little taunt of the opponent right afterwards.

I think he was in the moment.Plus he's Italian.Us Italians are way too dramatic with everything..lol I wouldn't be surprised if there was some taunting via Twitter, before this match. Perrotti is the fire of that team. He's a senior,a fireplug, and pretty much the leader of that team with respects too record, accomplishments, and time he has put in.The kids a warrior.I love watching him get po'd.It gets everyone up and shows that we don;t take an sh*t.We took so much crap for years, now that we are a right up there with the scholarships, recruits, rankings, attendance and funding( well, need to get some more funding) like some of the other Big 10 teams,It gives these kids a sense of pride and honor too be an RU wrestler. These kids feed off each other Ash kicks it off,Lewis comes in next and Perrotti finishes it off ( with Bakuckas getting some quality wins too sometimes).Perrotti is all heart. He's no threat too anyone( accept on the wrestling mat).

I have no issues with AP. His confidence and bravado helps drive this team. Unlike some of the Iowa kids who are flat out dirty on the mat, Perroti's arrogance is all heart and I love it. I'm with Creedo on this one.

Oh well..yeah I have too agree, that Tom Brands is certainly not teaching his boys the meaning of sportsmanship, that's for sure. That's the Iowa culture though. You can almost guarantee 2 things are gonna happen in Carver Hawkeye Arena 1) The ref's aint gonna be on your side 2) You better be on your A game, because the Iowa wrestlers feed of that crowd, and it is always too their advantage.

I should just let this die but I don't think I made any comparison to Perrotti looking like Gilman or one of the Iowa kids. If you watch the tape closely where you can see Goodale in the background, as Perrotti is celebrating he makes a gesture with his hand suggesting that AP calm down a bit when he is standing over his defeated opponent. Not trying to make a big deal over this and realize it was an emotional moment, and wrestling is certainly about emotion, but step away first before celebrating. That would be my preference and I had no problem with any other aspect of his celebration. I may be wrong but I don't think you see PSU kids behaving like Iowa kids either. That is the program to emulate with regard to success and behavior on the mat.

Fair enough rufeelinit. I just think his fire is needed across the board. Didn't think you were comparing him to Brands boys, just using that as an example of what I don't like.

Creedo... I think Brands is certifiably insane.

JB...you think( referencing Brands)??. rufeelinit, there is no harm in voicing what you think.I actually kind of agree. For a moment,I thought that Welch was gonna wack Perrotti, when he got in his face.Scott knows how too control his athletes, and Perrotti knows how too dial it down when instructed.Did you notice AP,when he was escorting Gravina's dad out of the Indiana gym,as Gravina's dad was flipping out,AP was yelling back at the crowd, and he certainly wasn't saying "please be nice too Mr.Gravina..lol"

I did not see the Indiana match but might see if I can find that snippet on you tube. What set Mr. Gravina off? I did see the camera on AP's dad in the stands at Purdue.

Probably some big mouth, Indiana bumpkin heckling Gravina for taking so much time for his fingers being taped. That's all I could gather.I love watching Perrotti and Gravina's dads in the stands. It's like RU Wrestling's version of My Cousin Vinnie..lol

Just curious, but how was Gravina allowed all that time? It was a finger dislocation and not blood was it? I thought injury time was only 90 seconds...
