Not what I'm saying at all, my point is that while other teams in our own division are grabbing up top flight recruits left and right, we're on here griping about how because trent dilfer likes the kid all the sudden he's an elite prospect and rather than realizing the fact of what's going on in recruiting, people are on here yelling about another star.

I think it's great that Russo is an Elite 11 Finalist, it's big for the program, but we should act like we've been there before, not jumping up and down like the village idiots saying "Look Look! We got one guy who Trent Dilfer Likes! Look, Big 10 Champs here we come!" especially when Ohio State, TTFP, Michigan and Michigan State are all killing it on the recruiting trail and some posters on here don't understand why top prospects don't choose us. We need to act like we belong, we won't be handed anything in this league, lets sign some big time prospects before we start yelling about a prospects' rating whose second biggest offer was Uconn

Anthony RUsso's interest in attending college close to his home in Eastern PA may have limited his D1 offers. But, that doesn't make him any less of a Quarterback.

Huh? I don't get ur logic... There's plenty of big time schools around him geographically who didn't offer, not just psu also wvu, vt, md, Pitt, etc.

His presence as an elite 11 QB is going to help him recruit better players, which he already says he is doing. Kareem Walker is on his 7 on 7 team at the Elite 11. I'm sure he will talk to him about playing together. BTW, he apparently loves the 6'5" Canadian receiver that we are in good with. Positive things are going to happen with him for RU. He is already showing strong leadership qualities.

16-35 304 yards 0 tds and 2 int in 5 playoff games tells me they won a state championship because the talent surrounding him not because of him. You can make all the excuses you want but anyway you slice it it a poor performance. I bet that the reason why he not gotten the offers. He put up decent numbers in games were they were clearly superior but all but disappeared when it mattered most.

I'm a big fan of his but you'd have to look long and hard to find a worse performance than Sonny Abramson's in the states where he threw 4 Int's. He had 2 4* who are at OSU and FSU now to throw to. Didn't seem to hurt his Rivals profile (5.7, 3*).

I'm not knocking Sonny because things can happen in any one game just pointing out the folly of your example.

Optimistic yes, insane no. We have landed a grand total of two, 4 star players in the last 4 years and nothing about this years recruiting is pointing any different.

I hope I am wrong but if I was a betting man, I'd say there's close to 0% chance Kareem walker or rashan Gary attend Rutgers

its sometimes tough to use the "who else offered" with QBs. Out of the schools you just mentioned:
psu - got their guy really early
wvu and maryland are spread teams
va tech offered about 10 kids of which almost all were from the south. They were recruiting dual-threat QBs
Pitt- offered dual-threat QBs and got their guy in March

Not saying we shouldn't be excited however recruits do read these boards, we're here clamoring for our QB to get a 3rd star meanwhile 4 other teams in the Big 10 East are currently ranked in the top 10 nationally for recruiting, look at how we're acting about a 2 star qb.

The other thing is some people on this board are already labeling this guy as our savior. He's a nice QB prospect but keep in mind that what got him his elite 11 invite was his performance in 7 v 7... I want this kid to succeed, I also don't want him blowing up in recruiting because other schools will come calling and lets face it, our track record isn't exactly the best in getting kids to stay once they get all the offers

No madhat called me a troll, I'm not a troll, I just also know quite a bit about pen state and posters on here can't accept that people can like both schools. I graduated from RU but grew up a psu fan, if that makes me a troll so be it but sir ur a moron for just saying 'Troll, Troll!' Whenever someone has an opposing view. Guarantano has a big arm but I don't see 4-star in that kid.

In terms of being able to draw kids, if Russo can help close Valentin and Durant and influence a skill position guy, he has done what was needed from him
