Anybody else dislike the PAC12 series?

Wazzu, now UW, then UCLA? P5 home and homes are great, but I would love then to be against Eastern Time or Central Time teams. These PAC12 games are far as hell, cost a fortune for travel and are televised at crazy hours for an East coast audience. I can't imagine it's great for the PAC12 team when they return either.

Love em. Better than non D1 teams. We still work hard to get 7 home games. Play teams we never really get an opportunity to. And realistically better chances of winning than playing SEC powers.

Would like to see us pairs with the ACC.

Better air times
Cost less to travel
Would just rather play FSU, Clem, Ville, NC State, UNC, Tech, BC, the U, VA Tech. East coast rivalries baby!

*I am a total east coast guy. I don't care what goes on anywhere else. Hey, at least I own it.

A lot of the ACC teams Rutgers has already played. Rutgers has played UL, NC State, Va. Tech, UM, BC, UNC, Pitt, and SU. At least the Pac 12 teams are a new experience for everyone. Besides, don't do anything to give the ACC hope or validate them as a major conference from top to bottom.

People on this board will moan about anything and everything. For years, we had a crap conference and crap OOC games and people complained. Now we're in the best conference, with a history of PAC12 competition, are playing a great schedule with intriguing OOC match-ups, both in terms of football and general travel destinations, and people are still complaining.

And about what? Travel too expensive? Watch on TV. Game on too late? Watch the replay. Can't get the PAC12 network? Stream online, get someone else's cable sign-in, go to a bar ...

Stop complaining and enjoy.

Glad you're not in charge of scheduling games, then.

The PAC vs B1G rivalry goes back a hundred years. Enjoy Seattle and Los Angeles. Two cities with a lot to offer for the first time visitor.

I am biased because I live in Raleigh NC, but it makes a lot of sense to schedule a series with NC State.

- Ash's buddy is the head coach

- Easy flight, doable road trip

- Unlike UNC there is a massive area for tailgating and the fans are friendly

- The schools are very similar

- I could be wrong but I think we have only played them once in a bowl

Why should we care about the cost of travel? If the AD deems it worthy its clearly not an issue.

The B1G series against the PAC 12 is a good one and good for both conferences and I hope RU plays a PAC school every year ( hopefully going through all of them).
On an individual school bases I would like to see RU schedule WV of the Big 12 & Arkansas (for SG and his RU friends to get together) every third year and Pitt/Syracuse/Miami (rotating them)
playing one of them on a 3 year bases in years that the Mountaineer/Razorback game isn't on schedule.
Year one could be WV/Arkansas, year two of the 3 could be Pitt/Syracuse/Miami and year 3 could be a random P5 school . Then start with year 1 schedule again.
This way RU will be playing 2 P-5 Schools every year if play a PAC school every year in a B1G-PAC series match-up.

I think the PAC-12 matchups are good for spreading Rutgers brand recognition a bit. People in the northeast already know RU as do people in the Midwest due to our joining the B1G. I suppose we could schedule in the Southeast or Texas, but some of those matchups may be a bit much with an already stacked B1G slate of games.

Now that I'm living in Washington, I'm loving the chance to see RU play the in state schools. By the way, like it or not, the Pac 10 is now our rival conference. See you in Seattle.

Personally SEC or ACC games would be much better than the wine and cheese snooty crowd out west and their over-inflated sense of self worth...

Yes...that's my bias and I'm OK with it...

The Pac12 has become my second favorite conference. I've tried to watch as many Cal, Colorado and Washington State games as possible. Since we will be playing Washington the next 2 years, I'll add them to my list. I also love Pac12 After Dark on the east coast and wish they weren't scaling the night games back. Those are some of the best games. Always tons of action. Nothing like a shoot out going to 2:30 - 3:00 AM.

Why? Those teams would help since they are in recruiting areas that make sense for us. Playing the PAC 12 teams is nice due to the Rose Bowl affiliation, but not sure recruiting nationally is in the plans for us in the near future.

It's awesome. If we want to be a nationally known team, play a national scedule.

There are large number of RU alums in the west. Playing here is the easiest way to attract them.

I'm not a fan of the PAC-12 series but not for all the previous reasons such as travel, TV times, etc.
I just think that playing them during the regular season will take away that real something special that we would feel when we finally make it to the Rose Bowl. If I could use the analogy of the Rose Bowl being Rutgers' wedding, I'd like us to be a PAC-12 virgin. Ok, maybe a little heavy petting with Colorado or Utah but otherwise save ourself for the big day.

I can dig this way of looking at it.

I am not a fan of inter-league play either but this is what we do now so...

Let's think about this a minute

1.) we gain little benefit playing anyone outside of Texas or Oklahoma from the big 12
As we are in the Midwest footprint a lot now we are in the big ten and not on the big ten network

2.) we have played every team in the ACC in the last twenty years except Florida state, Clemson and Georgia tech...and each of those schools plays in the northeast already in conference....and has a major occ rival game schedules ...so there is a lot of retreading here

We gave va tech and Miami signed up...two good choices if we are going to play an acdc team

That leaves us with the sec (who doesn't come across the mason Dixon lone too often)...and the pac 12

We have scheduled beautifully Our power 5 since 2010...

UNC ...2010-2011
Arkansas....2012-2013
Washington state...2014-2015
Washington....2016-2017
Kansas....2015, 2018
Miami....2019, to be determined
UCLA 2020-2021
Va tech ...2023-2024

We are doing this totally right

We are 5-2 in our last 7 games against power 5 out of confrence and our two loses were close

In addition....since 2010
-best Iowa state in a bowl
-lost to va tech in ot in a bowl
-lost to n dame in a close game in a bowl
-smacked unc in the bowl

We are doing this right

PAC teams vs B1G teams during the regular season has been going on for decades now .. and I mean going back to pre WW2. The ONLY school that never caught on to this was Penn St.

There's a lot of people in both the PAC and B1G that think Penn St., Rutgers and Maryland aren't a good fit in the B1G. I think that's due to them not understanding B1G tradition along with those schools being located on the east coast.

What do you expect from Penn St.
There are many Penn St. alums that think Penn St. should be independent such as ND. IMO the two rottenest dirty schools in college football are ND and Penn St. ND has went as far to cover up manslaughter with the Declan Sullivan incident.

Both schools like to be bullies. Some people love being the big fish in a small pond.

You left out the part where UNC cheats big time.
