"Some of the things that we thought were their 3-7 record in their last 10 games, as well as their ninth-place finish in the Big Ten standing," NCAA Tournament committee Rhonda Lundin Bennett said on a teleconference Monday evening in breaking down why Rutgers did not get in. "Those bad losses they had as well were what differentiated them. Those were Washington State and Northwestern."

Rutgers and West Virginia are the only 2 schools from the Power 5 with at least 20 wins that didn’t get in the NCAA. Both should get #1 seeds.

Shouldn't a team with an ncaa.com RPI of 40 make the NCAA tournament?

OU was 35.....Creighton got in at 49...should a team go that lost 9 of 12
If those last nine losses were spaced out over the season, do you think RU would be in (let's assume we lost to the teams we did, just that the losses were more spread out) or do you think the losses to Washington State and Northwestern still would have kept us out?

it all factors in..those are two negatives...so when they are down to the final 2 teams they can justify either reason as an excuse. IMO if they just beat Northwestern I think that would have been enough,

it was clearly NW that killed us. WSU was early season before we went on that big winning streak. That one could be considered a fluke. But when you lose like we did end season AND lose to NW...put a fork in it.

My issue was not RU not getting in, but OU getting in over us.

Hard to argue with their reasoning.

It's actually pretty easy to argue with their reasoning when you look at the last four teams in. But of course, one more win probably would have made it academic.

3 bad losses to OK one...I think Florida, even Ark Little Rock went to the ncaa

but I think Creighton really didnt do all that much to deserve getting in
