April 9,1965-Mickey does it indoors as well

50 years ago tonight,the Astrodome-the first indoor stadium- opened for an exhibition series between the AL Champ Yankees and the newly named Astros.

In the top of the 6th,Mickey-batting righthanded-broke up a scoreless game with a solitary homer to center.The Astros went on to win in the 12th.

The game was not on TV in our area,but there's a clip of it over on mlb.com
