Article - Hartford preview

They actually have two starters from NJ - Dunne and Hoboken's JR Lynch. He's their PG and just 5'10.

It's a quick turnaround for both teams but we get the slight advantage of not having to travel.

Our rebounding dominance will almost certainly continue given they don't have one player over 6'8 who plays more than 5 minutes per game, and two of their starters are 6' or shorter. Despite playing a very soft schedule, they are tied for 281st in rebounding.

Perimeter defense needs to improve as their guards Ross and Dunne can really score. Ross at just 6 feet tall is averaging 23.2 points per game and shooting over 48% from 3, and Dunne is an all-around solid player. Gotta make sure they don't catch fire as that's pretty much the only way they can stay with us.

You read the preview and you'd think Hartford should be a top 25 team. They're big , they're athletic, have a guy who can score lights out and another that can hit threes. So why are they 1-4 against mediocre competition?

I think once teams realize the way to play us is with a zone defense, our margins of victory will decrease. We're probably 20 pts better than Hartford but if they play zone expect a UNT type result. 75-64 RU.
