Article on Lacrosse Program

Brecht is building a well oiled machine here. Glad we locked up our prized Olympic sport coaches last year as I believe Brecht, Goodale and O'Neill all got long term contract extensions.

He is building a monster. Alumnhi are firmly behind him, as is the administration. I think having 150 plus alums at the Penn St. game last year was an eye opener.

I am more convinced than ever that with continued support at all levels, this can be a National Championship program. The pieces are really coming together.

Beat Stony Brook!

We are starting to put the pieces together including more and better publicity. I am hoping that some of the top recruited NJ see RU as a destination. Great brand of lacrosse, building top flight facilities, gray coaching all being used to recruit on a national level. There is a great buzz around NJ for this team. I have kids who are very good who are dying to go to Rutgers, including kids committed to other D1 schools

That's awesome to hear, Fam.

Big props to RU's media department. They are pumping out tons of great content too. More than most other programs I have seen. Big time stuff.

Fam I completely agree. One of my goalies has started to receive a ton of offers (D3 and D1) but he is hoping for a Rutgers look. I know all of my kids, and parents, are excited to get to the Rutgers vs OSU game. We should have a group of 80-100 with kids, parents, and families.

Because we're not one of the powers in the B1G, we're slowly funding our Olympic sports. I know wrestling was one of the first. Then baseball/softball and now lacrosse

I've said for years that with the right coach and decent institutional support, sky's the limit for this program. Our facilities may not be the best in the country but far from the worst. But what we have that NO OTHER program has is abosolutely PERFECT geography. NJ is now one of the better locations for lax talent and RU is about equidistant to the two biggest lax hotbeds - LI & Baltimore. All we need to do is win a bit and we will be able to consistently recruit many of the top players on LI. RU is pretty much the only lax program in a big time conference and isn't a commuter school where their family and friends can still easily come watch them play every home game plus regular games on LI (SBU, SJU, Hofstra), downstate NY (Wagner, Army), NJ (NJIT, Princeton, Monmouth), CT (Fairfield) -- all 2.5 hrs or less from most parts of LI.

What year is he? I know they are waiting on a 2018 that they want that is committed somewhere else, but they do not have a 18',19' or 20' committed yet. So he has a chance

He is a 2019. With a 4.3 GPA and money is not an issue.
