10-15 miles from Rutgers. Did RU even get a sniff?

"She led the league in scoring with 19.6 points per game. She was third in rebounding with 8.5 per game and led in blocks per game with 2.3. It was the first time the Bisons finished the season with a winning record in the Patriot League since 2021-22."

"I wanted a good academic institution, which is what I found in Michigan," she said. "I'm a political science major and they have the No. 4 political science program in the country. I really wanted that coupled with great basketball and Michigan has that.

"Great facilities, and like their team, their coaching staff, just great culture, great people, to be honest since I was younger I've always been a bit of a Michigan fan."

Might be why Rutgers and other programs didn't pass the sniff test
A close but no cigar in the Political Science category ( from a quick google)
>Rutgers University's Political Science program generally ranks high, often appearing in the top 50 nationally, with a specific ranking of #47 in Political Science by U.S. News & World Report. In the 2024 GRAS, Rutgers SPAA ranks 2nd nationally and 7th globally in Public Administration. Rutgers is also ranked #33 in the nation for Political Science by Center for World University Rankings<

Ashley would have been a good get for RU.

I don’t believe Rutgers reached out (at the very least they werent a big player). She also has a younger sister at SJV who’s a Top 100 recruit in the 2026 class, but Rutgers didn’t make her top 10.

Definitely stings to not be on that list considering the close proximity, and her father Don has been a longtime HS football coach in the area, including at New Brunswick HS.

Fact that Coach hasn't lit it up here at RU to this point, could very well play into Taylor passing on us. With what the big sis said about academics and bball, and then Taylor having Penn St on her list,.... I have to wonder if it's an indictment on our coach vs. the school and/or NIL money comparisons. A lot of kids may also want to go away to school.
