i have watched a few Alabama games and it looks as if Avery runs a pro system and his team looks as if the offense is moving and getting good shots as opposed to the system we run. They are 10-5 and have some good wins. I know they are working with more healthy players but it seems as if his offense gets good shots while we play park basketball. Just was wondering if anyone had an opinion. I only bring it up because they were both pro coaches who came to college.

Rutgers players get good looks, unfortunately, they don't knock down the shots.

Reminds me of a recent game announcer that said it best....most games come down to the team that makes its open shots.....a really simple concept, but, when I watch games it rings true.

I'd say that we probably take alot of hard to make shots more often than we should. We do get open looks but it feels like our players take too many difficult shots ie. shots in traffic, contested 3's off the dribble. Our personnel still needs to find an identity on offense. It's just been too difficult with all the injuries.

Avery Johnson is a notorious micro-manager which might fit better in the college game with players that need alot of direction. I know that in Brooklyn it was a problem for him.

Without a consistent inside scoring presence Rutgers offense is limited to a semi weave with the hopes of a drive to the basket and or pass to a open player in the corner for a 3 pointer. The lack of height and talent neutralizes what Rutgers is trying to accomplish.
