She lost a ball in a tackle inside the 18 or right around there, turned around, looked at the girl on the ground, turned her head back around again and stepped right on her. Typical dirty play by Tiernan. Does it all the time but this time she took too long and got caught. What did Tiernan do for a red card?

Discuss in other thread she has a bad temper also had to sit out a game during the regular season for amassing 5 yellow cardsThat’s ridiculous
Yeah, there was a ton of sloppy play in that sequence. Not looking too good.Ugh that was awful
Oh well. Maybe next year
2-0 bad guys
Good run but girls not even competitive todayEven worse now. What a goal by UCLA. 3-0. Half. It’s over.
They've done it all game blabbing about anything & everything except what's happening on the field. Happens in many sports.I've watched the last 15 minutes. I don't think the commentators have spoken about the actual game during that time. Why would I care what USC's or OSU's RPI or tournament prospects look like. There's a game going on. I get its 3-0 but it's really poor commentating.
As we’ve discussed all season we don’t have top end speed and since Amirah left we have not had a difference making finisher and that has been evidence in our lack of scoring these past 3 seasonsThe inability to score goals has been a problem all season.Defense has kept the games close and has resulted in wins such as against USC in the semi finals.Rutgers desperately needs a Carli Lloyd type player that can create shots and make goals.
Unfortunately they’re second string girls better and faster than our first teamAs we’ve discussed all season we don’t have top end speed and since Amirah left we have not had a difference making finisher and that has been evidence in our lack of scoring these past 3 seasons
I’m pretty sure you UCLA was playing five forwards the entire game. The 4-0 is even worse when you realize we've been playing back most of the game, no aggressive runs in the box or counterattacks at all and still got burned.
it wouldnt have changed anything, but I dont see how you can say there was enough video to overturn the call on teh field which was goal. absurd.Didn't see a good replay angle. Tough call to disallow. Probably didn't cross completely but no side angle
by pressing us with 5 players in our final third, UCLA was essentially signaling that there is not a player on our team which scares them. that was a tough one to watch.I’m pretty sure you UCLA was playing five forwards the entire game.
He needs to hit a home run for a forwardby pressing us with 5 players in our final third, UCLA was essentially signaling that there is not a player on our team which scares them. that was a tough one to watch.
Tiernan being out definitely hurt...but not sure it changes anything.
hats off to UCLA...every girl on that team is a soccer player. in contrast, we have 3-4 girls who seem to have high soccer IQ.
Mike needs to continue recruiting outside of the PDA sphere...too many of those girls made their hay being on teams which are waaaaay better than the comp, and are just good athletes (big and/or fast). we need more complete soccer players. Find more players like Tsokos and Baran please. And of course Bradley
I actually feel like he is making the pivot, so I am completely good with him continuing to chop away for a few more years. the future is bright. But to take the next step to be elite, we need more players at the UCLA / USC level.
he's going to need to hit 2 home runs with 2 impact CBs.
oh...one more thing...fitness, fitness, fitness. this needs to be a focus for this team in the offseason. too many of our women are simply not in great shape (not trying to be offensive...I genuinely mean this respectfully). and I am not just talking about top-end speed (that's an issue as well). But we're not fit in some very key positions...at this level, that is simply unacceptable.
hopefully this blowout doesnt impact our seeding.
yeah...would love both CBs and a forward...but priority #1 and #2 needs to be CBHe needs to hit a home run for a forward
Oh no I agree with you about replacing Mason and Banks I am not sure who we have on the roster now will be hard to expect freshman to replace either one maybe a transfer but it’s crucial and of course not easy that we get a scorer again maybe we can get lucky in the portalyeah...would love both CBs and a forward...but priority #1 and #2 needs to be CB
we're losing 2 all B1G players at CB. how you plan to win games getting a forward and not replacing Banks and Mason?
we're effed if he does what you're proposing (if I am following you).
We didn't have the speed or creativity to counter. The 4-0 is even worse when you realize we've been playing back most of the game, no aggressive runs in the box or counterattacks at all and still got burned.
Soccer out in California is another level. Great programs up and down the state and very competitive. O'Neill and McElderry would be wise to develop some relationships out here to attract talent now that the B1G is coast to coast. Reasso had some success with California in the 1980s and was able to get Lev Kirshner back in the day.by pressing us with 5 players in our final third, UCLA was essentially signaling that there is not a player on our team which scares them. that was a tough one to watch.

Soccer is massive in SoCalThe city of Los Angeles is going to take home the first two women’s soccer titles in this conference. Brutal.
