He was paid $19 million to not coach Notre Dame's football team over 7 years. Kansas will continue to pay him to not coach there until the end of 2016.

OK, but why do you say this is bad news? Because cash strapped Notre Dame will suddenly be able to commit more resources towards football? Because this will lure the amazingly successful and beloved Weiss back into coaching and this will hurt RU recruiting as he will raid NJ? I don't follow you.
 
I think it was his way of saying that he was happy to see ND on the hook for so much money for so long. Probably a lot of people were.

I would be happy to not coach if someone would pay me that kind of $$$.

So he was paid over the past 4 years for basically doing nothing. College football has lost its way.

According to the teachings of the Cult of Schiano, this now means Weis is free to take a high profile head coaching job.
 
Weis might be interested in the running backs job for Rutgers.He has NJ ties and probably knows Christie.
