What a game. 30 points on 15 shots (no free throws). That is insane.

That 1st 3 was so pretty and he got himself into a strong shooting position.

I've been critical about his high percentage of long 2's early in the shot clock.

Certainly looked liked a lottery pick. 2 dunks on drives. 1(?) layup on a fast break, 1(?) put back at the rim, quality looks from all over.

and yet it was a hobbled ineffective Harper shooting 2 crucial shots down 70-67 and 72-67

It just looks like Dylan and Ace are left to figure out how to get their shots.

We used to see how we would try to get Cam shots when he was here.

Shame on the staff for Ace not getting at least 20 shots last night. It's like they weren't watching him on offense.

Purely from a NBA projection perspective:

No FTs is a little bit of a red flag.
That combined with his overall poor FT% is likely the only reason he could maybe drop.

At 6’10”, he should be getting to the rim and drawing fouls at will.
Especially if being sold as a franchise player.
He’s currently 25th in the Big Ten at just over 4FTs per game and just under 59% shooting.

(Dylan at 63% FT in conference isn’t much better)

Alternatively, it looks like Flagg is just under 8FTs per game at just over 80% shooting.

Flagg is Ace except he plays like a veteran and has more weight on him. Ace is almost too hyper active out there, going for blocks unnecessarily, the way he has to pitty pat his feet before he shoots free throws. He's getting more relaxed as the games go by though. Sucks that he won't be at Rutgers when he really puts it all together. Smh that's why some are upset and I get that. But that's why someone should have gotten Matt alocco and a veteran big to capitalize on the year you have with these two. But yeah free throws will get better as well as drives to the basket, he gets better every game.

Do you want him dribbling? You want him shooting and making tough shots. Right?

I have more NBA concerns about Harper than Ace. Agree?

The “pitty pat” of his feet is new the last few games. Ace is a rhythm shooter. He was going through a rough stretch from the foul line. Appears to me is that he is trying to get a rhythm on the line. That’s the way I see it.

In recent games Bailey is showing what a outstanding scorer he is from all areas of the court. He should receive high All American consideration but probably won't happen because of team performance.

No.

Flagg and Bailey are totally different types of players.

Flagg is a stretch 4, who is also a good defender and passer.

Bailey is a PURE WF, with significantly different and better shot-making from many more positions on the floor - can probably pass, but doesn't as much (maybe not as many scorers around him versus Flagg?). Bailey has also improved his defense the last 5-6 games - not as good defense as Flagg, but much improved.

They are only compared because they are similar heights, and both ranked in the Top 3-4 in the country for their class ... and thus vying for who will be the #1 pick (still expect Flagg to be the #1 pick). Many rry to compare their games - but since they really are very different styles players, at different positions, the comparisons are not really applicable. IMO.

I agree about the different styles of play and Ace's shot making ability. But they are both wings. Flagg handles the ball even more than ace does. Positionless, Jason Tatum/Jalen Brown type players. Aces jump shot is so pure that his game is unique to him....and KD lol
I was just replying in regards to his statement about free throws attempts and the NBA draft. Ace is getting more comfortable driving to the basket as games go on. When he gets his foot work right and starts to take off for dunks off of one foot....watch out..he has to jump off two feet currently but when he perfects his drive into the lane that's another level he can go to. He will begin to get more free throws then. He won't drop in the draft because of a lack of free throws...
