At the end of today's game it was announced that we will start an hour earlier tomorrow and play a double header vs. Nebraska because of the prediction of rain on Sunday. Hopefully we can play well.

Just got in from 6 hours of ripping out weeds and grass, planting bushes, plants and flowers, cutting the lawn. Sounds like I didn't miss much in the first game. Hope we can bounce back in the next one, and take the series. Bummer about Harris, and even Carter injured, 2 good bats and speed.

I need some cold beer and some timely hits. Let's Go RU !

Nebraska crushed the ball in both games. We had 11 hits in the first game and couldn't come up with a timely hit as many innings we left 2 or 3 guys on base. In the second game we had much of the same until the 9th inning when we scored 4 but it was too late as we lost 8-4. We hit many long balls in the outfield but they were all just outs. Watching both games these were killers in the BIG standings as we are now 6-9 with 6 away games coming up over the next two weekends. We had to win the series and we couldn't do it. I hope we can have a winning season but we must win at least 2 of the 6 games vs. Michigan and Maryland. We also must beat St. Peter's twice and hopefully win the last series with Northwestern.

I don't see where the St Peters games or any non conference games matter, RU is playing to get into the Big 10 tourny and I think only conference games count. The Overall record would be important for an At Large into the NCAA's and that's not even a remote possibility.

The team is better than last year's. I think it is important to at least finish at .500 or better for the entire season if we don't make the BIG tournament. Last year we only won about 5 games in the BIG and lost well over 30 games for the entire season. We must continue to improve each season. Our pitching needs to improve and we need hitters that can hit like the Nebraska kids did today.

Think we can go 6-3 in last 9 conference games. Probably can "sneek" in to the 8-team tourney at 5-4 but 6-3 should have us smack in the middle of seeds 5-7.
