Beamer

... Why would we consider him? Unless you were joking - then I apologize for not catching it .

Where'd you see he's on the hot seat. He's had a bunch of mediocre years lately but unless he really tanks I'd figure he'd be there until he retires which could be soon anyway though. His contract runs through 2018 and he makes around 2.5M.

If they don't promote Bud Foster to HC, he'd be the one I'd take a look at as DC but that's about it. He probably would be out of our pay range though. I think he makes about 900K at VT. I think a combo of Fuente and Foster would be a good one but not likely to happen.

I think Beamer and Spurrier are going to be in similar spots at the end of the year - where the admin will not fire them, but wouldn't argue too much if they decide to retire. It also wouldn't shock me if Va Tech chose to go in a totally different direction and start new with the next regime as well. The results at Va Tech over the last three years have been so mediocre that they may want to change it up and create a new identity. Just a feeling I get, I have no real insight into the VT football program.

on the hot seat ... If so, would he consider RU?
Didn't you learn from the Friedgen debacle that you don't hire 68 year old guys? Sure hire Beamer if you just want to replace him in a few years. College football is a young man business. You don't hire guys who are eligible to collect social security and expect to build a program around them.

Never do that.Just don't tell that to Kansas State.

That one of the few places it has worked. There always exceptions. He also was familiar with the program so the transition was easier.

Come on, no... We need someone who doesn't wear diapers yet, but will when he retires
