We will massacre them... I saw that they have a higher probability of winning 0 games this season (almost unheard of for a P5 team) than Ohio State has going undefeated
Whatever...we stink. I am over it emotionally. Slept fine.
Last year during aND after the game I was a wreck. Talk about devastating. This year by the time our dude tackled our own player instead of the guy in blue streaking down the field I was just laughing and drinking.
this self-imposed amnesia is WHY we still have an idiot at the helm. we need to all band together to put out the dumpster fire.
Very concerned about next two games - the Key questions -
Will Flood direct the implementation of a game plan to 'play' Kansas - or a game plan to "BEAT" Kansas?
How will Flood manage his dealing with the team all week - will he monopolize all of the team interaction opportunities in order to convey that he is still here & still in charge - it is just that on Saturday the team will have a 'substitute' head coach. carrying out Flood's lesson/game plan ...... or will he put pride & ego on the shelf and work to put Wilson front & center for the whole week - imprinting upon the team that for the next two games - this is the leader - ?

(btw - I'd be shocked beyond all belief if we lose this Saturday....)
People doubted Kemt St because they are a MAC team. Many fan bases have made that mistake.
Kansas is dead meat. Would be shocked if they weren't at least a two TD underdog. It will be so lopsided that even Rescigno might get some snaps.

Not that beating Kansas saves the season. But as the line from Animal House goes, "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
And we are not one of the 2 worst P5 teams. If the team and coaches can get it together, I see the following as winnable:
1. Kansas -
2. Indiana-
3. Army-
4. Maryland
And I believe if we can put it all together in one game, RU can beat one of Nebraska and Michigan--tall order, but RU will have to execute to perfection.
However, based on last night, that is a big IF. Yesterday we saw UConn play Missouri to the wire and NIU (great team, hire Rod Carey if Flood is gone) give the national champion a hard time.
Will the team wallow and give up? I don't think so. Will Rettig get a shot? I hope so. But even if he does, RU has lots of things to fix on the OL and DL. It all starts there. We have talented RBs and Receivers. But they ain't doing anything if the QB is not protected and holes are not opened.
Don't get me wrong - I'm pretty sure we win this week - it's just that Flood is an absolute "dud" on Homecoming, thus far, bottom line.
BTW - we don't beat IU or Maryland if we play like we did last night. I hate saying that, I really do, but it's the cold hard truth.
We are in 100% agreement. Couple of points.
1. I am still smarting from the Kent State homecoming (and remember, I forgot about 2013!).
2. We don't beat Kansas if we play like last night. I would like to think we will get better. Ohio State got better after VT last year--and no we are not Ohio State, but we can get better if we set our minds to it.
hahahahahaha...very well played....I have a bad feeling there are going to be about 20,000 seats disguised as fans, next week, unfortunately....regardless of the weather....students are going to be a big "no show" and fans, for a noon HC start - again - aren't going to be too excited to leave their tailgates next week.
I am going to need earplugs because the guy behind me is going to be teed up and ready to vent.
I'll be there. Got four in the upper deck and I doubt anyone will stop me from sitting nice and close.
We are going to win next week by a td and then everyone will say all is fine. Laviano will look good throwing 2 td's which will give flood more reason to never play Rettig. Ah what a season.
Sure didn't see that coming a couple of weeks ago. Of course, a lot has happened that I sure as hell didn't see coming.:scream:
Next week will show us nothing it's like playing an FCS opponent. They lost to S. Dakota St.(N. Dakota St. is the good one) and got blown out by Memphis 55-23. They are more than likely the worst P5 school by a wide margin. Should be a happy Homecoming and over by halftime. If it's a close game it will be more indicative of how far we have fallen.

Absolutely hate games like this against Kansas - in theory they should be easy to blast into pieces - but for some reason teams like that have a knack for putting together 1-2 games where they find their touch - with the way this season has gone - this will be one of those games.
I don't want us to pull it together if it means Flood is fired. It should have been done in 2013, but USF not showing up screwed that up.
Hope we beat them by a H U G E margin!
And hope Rettig gets to see the field from Q1.
