Big 10 Rankings and 2/14-2/20 discussion thread

Could be too early to tell, but if we finish in last place, who do we want to play in opening round?

Who is best matchup for us?
(Assuming Illinois finishes 13th)

didn't see the game...Nigel Hayes 6pts 5 reb 1 ast.

I am not impressed with nigel hayes. I am really not sure what he is. Doesn't shoot good enough to be a perimeter player. isn't quick enough to take good defenders off the dribble. i think he is a very good complimentary piece on a team that needs him to be much more.....and he is shooting 62% from the lines as a Senior. when i see him play he gives me the vibes that Dane Miller gave off his last year.

My top 5
1. Nebraska (we already have a win)
2. PSU (we already have a win)
3. Indiana....very talented, but they'd be mentally gone
4. Iowa
5. Ohio State...athletic

bottom line I think we can win against any of these opponents. They will all be what their record says they are. No Purdues on this list.

didnt he come up big in the NCAA tourney last year..edit two years ago, he has played in two final 4s and 14 NCAA tournament games. This is a guy I want on my team when I am playing tourney games

In a complementary role. Don't get me wrong he is a good player. His tournament high was 15. last year scored 12,6 and 11. In that loss to ND score 11 on 4-12 shooting with 6 TOs

Illinois over Iowa was a mild surprise and pretty much means RU is not going to catch Illinois or anyone for that matter for 13th...perhaps more torture for Illinois fans as it could raise the possibility of Groce coming back if he finishes strong

Purdue dispatched of Michigan State pretty easily

Nebraska upset Ohio State on the road...that is not a team that I would want to face at all even though RU has a win over them. OSU is pretty much destined for the last 4.

Wisky bounces back by handling Maryland at home. Wisky tied with Purdue but the Boilermakers have the head to head edge right now.

Minnesota topped Michigan 83-78 in OT in a very well played game. 5 in a row for the Gophers and they have all but punched their dance ticket. Michigan still in good shape as long as they do not tank the regular season
