Big game tonight (Game Thread!)

wow...not another Seton Hall showing...is this the team i so enjoyed watching playing cocky in yrs gone by....who's in the coaches seat as a CVS imposter...I Blame JH and Barchi for cutting her assistants budget for ruining our jewel of the east...

Don't blame it on the assistants. This season and the past are on CVS....Jewel of the east lol

Actually we scored 27 points in the second half.

The first quarter is what killed us, we played them pretty much even the other 3.
I was mistaken Rutgers had 28 points after 3 quarters and then scored 15 points in the last quarter. The bottom line is that scoring 43 points in a 40 minute game with the 3 point shot a major part of college basketball simply won't get the job done ,

That's a big reason why RU lost and not being sarcastic .
The O needs to improve and the ability to shoot 3s is part of a good O.
Coaches need to work on that so RU WBB can win against schools in the top 10-15.

I guess since they haven't been consulted about the FB coaching position and can't get any inside information, they traveled over here to gripe about a loss to #13 team on the road. FSU has won 28 consecutive non-conference home games.

So then why did you bother to post here?
So is there a rule that says only positive posts are accepted here?
I'm voicing an opinion. I've had season tickets for 20+ years. Have traveled to away games, NCAA regional games and 2 FF's. I'm only listing that, to support that I'm not a casual observer, or a troll poster.
Lighten up everyone. It's ok to have differences of opinion.

Can't say if you're one or not, but there are some posters that make themselves pests after a loss but you don't see them after a victory.
Criticism should be part of discussing RU WBB, but it's unfair to just bash and ignore any good that has happened.
The ladies had a slight winning streak, won a tourney and the ones that were so negative after losses stayed away from this board rather than compliment the team
For some it looks like they have a rule that forbids them from having anything positive to say about RU's WBB program

I think the issue is this - the team has not performed as well as one would think, based on the team's talent, coaching, history, expectations, etc.

But once you get past saying that - there is really not much else to say. Do we know why the team has "laid an egg" in 3 games but looked much better in the others? I don't. Do we know if this team is going to continue the up / down pattern, or start playing consistently the way they did in the Jam? I don't. How much have known and unknown issues (health, new coaches, etc.) affected play? I don't know.

That's what gets folks (and I'm not claiming you specifically) viewed as trolls. They come after a loss and say - well, we stunk. Well, we did. But write to the new AD, write to Vivian, write a long opinion piece . . . whatever. But either come after a good win and say so (and many don't) or contribute something positive to a discussion above and beyond crapping about the coaching and 3 point shooting (which - prior to FSU - must have been ok because the ACC announcers were saying good things about it)

Somewhat fair points overall, but this board wasn't exactly lit up after each of the tourney games either.
Anyway, lets see which team shows up Sunday. I'm hoping for a nice W.
FWIW, I do think this board is the most sensitive of all sports.....but that's how it goes

And 3 point shooting wasn't what killed us in this game. Both teams made exactly 1 three point basket. Fouls and turnovers were the killers. I am a Dayton alum and follow them on Twitter. The men's team tweeted that the biggest change this year is "no touching". So for a defense oriented team, like the RU women, it seems to be proving especially difficult for them to adjust to the new rules. They will have to or we will be seeing more tough losses.

Very true - this disparity in fouls called was amazing(24-13) and in the first quarter the margin was worse. We have to learn to play within the new rules (or wait until a little deeper into the season when the "point of emphasis" has worn off and officials get back to normal). The turnovers are very disturbing. With a relative experienced foundation, we should not be committing as many as we have.

Yes, it's okay to have differences of opinion... and that includes my opinion, okay?

Seriously, have you been on the football board lately? It's a total train wreck.

And you're right that the board was relatively quiet after the tourney games. First, few people saw these games since they weren't televised. And second, there was little to complain about, so those that only post after a loss were nowhere to be seen.

It'll get better...i'm impatient too but decided not to post the negativity....it won't help. But the team needs to start playing within themselves like a team...time will cure our ill's...were better than we've been.
