The BIG 10 has now won both challenges over the ACC and the Big East. So much for so many saying the BIG was down. Purdue defeated Virginia the National Champions by 29. Ohio State defeated North Carolina at Chapel Hill by 25 and Maryland defeated Notre Dame by 21. The BIG has certainly bounced back after a slow start. Michigan, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan State are all rated in the Top 12 in the country. Indiana and Penn State and Purdue are all in the top 25 in some polls. RU certainly has their work cut out for them. This is one tough league.

B1G Basketball is as good as it gets in College Basketball.

Only one game of the challenge was decided by single digits... and Miami led that one by 26 at one point.

There's multiple arguments that fans have decided are important to have and it all surrounds whether RU can dance or not in the near future.

Or, it's now the path that fans have to try and explain away the progress made, having to do with the league not being as good, therefore RU will be better.

There's another thread where Wisconsin is considered 12th and not recruiting well, when they've made 18 out of 19 NCAAS and have a large 2020 recruiting class of top 250-300 kids....but supposedly not recruiting well.

There's just not enough awareness or reliable information out there....there are opinions tossed around like hand grenades and people disagree and then disappear, only to surface with a new negative argument to discuss.

Every league has head scratching games from time to time. But to think the B1G is "way down" is comedy-central".

The B1G was 8-6 but it doesn't tell the entire story. The margins of victory were eye opening....the 6 losses...RU, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Michigan were on the road....Michigan State lost to Duke and Illinois lost at home to Miami, getting down by almost 30, before losing by a 2, and had the ball to tie or win under 20 seconds left.

The road wins were Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State.

I dont quite understand why fans believe this item that basketball is somehow automatically easier to rebuild or happens overnight.

The only argument that makes sense is RU not landing enough highly ranked talent, even though the majority of the league, is solid because of player development.

There's not a lot of 1 and dones like Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Arizona types and there hasn't been a National championship in a long time. But the league is still proven in the 1st month, to be as good as any other conference or better than many want to believe.

The top of the ACC is the weakest it's been since the year Miami won it (and only got a 2 seed). Louisville looks legit but who else is going to get a top-3 seed?

I agree it’s been really strange. The league appeared to be down, then it appeared to be way better than expected last week, then two of the league’s top teams, Michigan and Michigan State,
looked terrible this week against top competition.

Overall, the league has done better than I expected early on, with some head-scratchers going both ways. Basketball is so much more about match-ups than lots of other sports, it can be hard to predict.

Right now, my biggest disappointment has been that I thought Rutgers was solidly in the middle of the pack in the B1G this year and I no longer feel that way.
