In a stunning development, sources claim that former Rutgers athlete from the early 1960's, William Garbarini, has applied to and been granted a medical redshirt year by the NCAA due to an injury back in his senior year (tennis elbow). He will now have an extra year of eligibility in the sport of his choice, 60+years later!

Despite his unwavering love of Rutgers, Billy, like many seniors, is extremely concerned about the viability of Social Security. He will therefore enter the wrestling portal and sign with the team offering the highest NIL package. With the ability to serve as both a quality room guy and team psychologist, strong interest is expected.

Repeated efforts to reach the new Rutgers Athletic Director for a comment were unsuccessful.

Strong rumor that the largest NIL offer to Bill is from SUNY Oswego. They want to use his presence to be the catalyst to not only start the program but to join the B1G after 1 year with Billy G as head coach. Rumor has it that Bill is insisting that Cael, Jordan, and Dan Gable be hired as his assistants. He is also insisting that Tim Burklow be brought on board to lead the iconic “O” cheer.

When I saw Bill (and Bill only), my thought turned to Janzer thinking theres no way he still has more eligibility. Anyhow, my prediction is Bill will refuse money/tampering offers from Iowa, shun Taylor at Okie St., give double birds to Cael and his training partners at PSU, only to remain with his beloved Scarlet Knights. He will complete his final year with honor and commitment seldomly seen in today's money grabbing lanscape before accepting the head coaching job at Rutgers once his wrestling career has finally ended.

Now the only question is can he cut to 125. He’s going to have to curtail the lifting and put more time into cardio to get there. I understand that a part of his deal is a 5 year contract as a SKWC resident athlete after next season so the rumors of a 2028 Olympics run may have a factual basis. The head coaching position will have to wait as he chases Olympic gold.
There is only one Billy G and he is a Scarlet Knight forever.
