I would think all they care are about is they're wearing black…no?Agree that a blackout looks better during the day but this is what the team chose. Also, if we had it during a day game our fans would complain black is to hot in the sun.
I would love to see the red and black alternating colors in each section, that has become so popular now in college stadiums. Don't know if RU can pull it off though, needs a lot of planning and we have a lot of stubborn fans who don't like to be told what color to wear to the games. You will see them saturday night wearing their yellow shirts, etc or other college shirts to an RU game. They will definitely not be wearing black that is for certain!!
From a visual, you are correct. I think it would be really neat looking!I love the blackouts as well, the whole concept of dressing like the team is cool. I'm speaking from a visual perspective only...the Red and Black mixed together at night would look extraordinary on TV.
Yeah, GOOD LUCK getting our fans to pull that off, especially when emotionally "down." I agree - it would look GREAT at HPSS, no doubt, but it takes a loyal-ass fan base (and one that pays attention...) to pull it off well. You should check out the "tiger stripes" that Mizzou has done they're ridiculous1

I'm a redhead with no soul and red doesn't go well with my hair... Am I excused? LolI'm with Zap...I like the stadium in "RED" much better at night and actually think a good blackout looks better during the day, but to each his/her own!
BTW - we need to bring back the "Wear Red To The Game" mantra. Our crowd is starting to slip just a tad.
+10000 black towels didn't make for much of a visualScarlet rally towels against a black background.
The blackout will be great, I get it.
But here's a question, wouldn't a RED stadium against the night sky be cool as hell coupled with the all black uniforms?
That was a day gameIsn't that what happened last year vs. Indiana?
Guys - there have been quite a few games, now, where we wore black uni's but it wasn't a "blackout" game. Also, we've had "student section blackouts," only, on top of full-stadium ones. Anyway, check out Mizzou:

We did it once in basketball with lower level of the RAC receiving alternate white and red t-shirts for the Notre Dame game. It may be tough to do it on a large scale for football.I would love to see the red and black alternating colors in each section, that has become so popular now in college stadiums. I think for the most part that black-outs, stripe-outs and all that are a bunch of crap that no one gives a damn about past kickoff, but that scene at Faurot Field is pretty incredible. It's quite an effect. But really, I'm all for "Wear [your school color here] to the Game!"Guys - there have been quite a few games, now, where we wore black uni's but it wasn't a "blackout" game. That never happened. That graphic is a concept. Look at the watermark under #TigerStripeFaurot.
It's @football_concepts.

I thought this happened once some years ago (during the Schiano era). The team came out of the locker room wearing black uniforms, but it wasn't announced in advance so the stadium was filled with red. I can't remember if it was a night game, though.
