This is an interesting post because of the Ray Rice mention. Kids make decisions for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they play out in different ways. Rice was going to Cuse. He is telling this class that it is ok if they had those thoughts as a reaction because even he did. But that instead of reacting without thinking, they need to do what he did, realize all the reasons he loves Rutgers and why he committed in the first place. That is a stronger message then just saying to keep committed...

You get it..When major changes happen, it makes everyone have to think about it. I'm not sure if it is definition of wavering. Seems like he thought about it, internalized it and then stayed steady in his commitment.
I am sure over the course of my marriage, both she and I have had times that we had to think about it in a moment of "shit happened" but then quickly realize what each of us had in each other and it never became a point of wavering.
