Wow. Did that ever bring back memories! Lloyd and Valvano in the backcourt, arguably the best backcourt in the nation. RU's first ever post-season tournament - the 1967 NIT. RU fans filling the Garden, standing on our seats and screaming during the thrilling upset win over #14 Utah State. Lloyd scoring 129 points in 4 games. Does that record still stand?

According to the NY press - that was the week when Sleeping Giant was awakened.

That was an amazing time! I was there too! After 2 great games at the old garden, waited in line all night just to get tickets into the barn for the giant screen video broadcast of the semifinal against walt frazier of southern illinois.
