Caleb McConnell RU Comparisons . . .

Greer was pretty good, even as a freshman. Really never seemed to get much better, but he was an immediate contributor

He was. HIs brother played for Pitt, I believe? Just trying to get an idea on what we might expect from McConnell, and Greer seemed like a good comparison.

To me from seeing a game film with McConnell he has way more point guard skills than Greer. The players Caleb more reminds me of is Kyle Anderson (although shorter) and Tony Carr. I am not saying he is or will be at their levels, but he has that easy smoothness to his game. Now how will that translate to college and the B1G, well only time will tell.

McConell will be a solid player in year two.

As far as year one, expect him to keep defenders honest, make a fancy pass in transition, and take on 14-18 minutes.

His upside is high, and he will help his team immediately.

The key for him is to have a Myles Mack mentality and be able to drive without fear of consequences given his size limitation in year one.

Very excited for McConnell and his future on the Banks. Even if Mulcahy does not choose RU, we have a solid player in McConnell.

Anyone else you know who has three letters repeat themselves more than once in a name right after each other? Interesting..

Let’s see the guy play first.
I don’t see any problem with people drawing comparisons from his highlight film. Also think that the comparisons some of the posters drew especially to Jeff Greer were a good call. I think Caleb looks to have more upside potential and can definitely be a great defender with his length but as with all players and with all potential we will just have to wait and see but happy to have this kid on R TEAM.
