Call Rutgers AD Hobbs Today

I think it’s fair for Hobbs to ask for an explanation . It won’t change anything but this is normal.
The BIG should get out in front of it and release a statement …saying the officials missed the calls, the play is not reviewable (that’s what I heard it’s not )
and the 2 referees are suspended for x number of games.
Then we remember when these 2 guys come to the RAC

When this loss costs us conference title in March, or NCAAs, I'll remember that. Thanks.

You must be new to college basketball or B1G games.....it is a consistently bad job by referees on a nightly basis in this league. You can watch 15 B1G games a week in January to February and walk away from the TV shaking your head at non RU officiated games.

Only babies cry for days about a ridiculous call that everyone knows should have resulted in a RU road win. And for those that still don't understand metrics or how teams are measured, they're measured, possession by possession on both ends. It also measures the caliber and skill level/results of all of your opponents, not just wins and losses.

Just show up to the RAC the rest of the season and yell your loudest and the results will be there. Whining about this 24 to 48 hours later is what losers do....getting up off the deck is what matters.

Only people with no dignity call folks cry baby losers on message boards!

Simple solution is to not allow the refs to be in a position where a blown call can cost you the game. There are probably 50 smaller things that happened throughout the game, that if we had done just a little bit better, that call doesn't matter and we leave with a W.

If we want to advocate for something to change as the result of this, those things should be

(1) update review rules to allow and require review of endgame situations like this
(2) get rules preventing refs from working stupid schedules like that guy was

The result of the game is a done deal

This doesn't do anything.
It’s important for the BIG to acknowledge the fu$ck up. The BIG’s response should be something like this “we promote fairness in competition and our member schools have a right to expect games are officiated competently . On Thursday night, during the rutgers-Ohio state game, rules were failed to be enforced which impacted the result of the game.” And then some blah blah Feel good BS .

Yes, all of this will be BS in the end but the bottom line is the BIG needs to be transparent they hey our officials f$cked up

It’s 100 times more important this game gets put behind us.
The players know what happened…time to get ready for SHU.
Let the press, bloggers and analysts yell and scream.
Rutgers and everyone associated with RU moves on
Agree use it as motivation going forward. Use it to galvanize an already strong locker room, us against the world mentality. As you say it is the media and fans responsibility to yell and scream. Silence from the team and coach.

We will hear about all of this come tourney time. It's just I want this to be a see we didn't need the refs, B1G or any outside help to qualify and get a good seed.

Absolutely necessary for Hobbs to make a loud, loud & relentless beef about this. Want a retroactive rule change & the win awarded to RU. Let the players & coaches move on.
Disagree. The AD should be dealing with this behind the scenes. Let the fans and media be loud. The AD needs to be above board and professional.

I hope my sarcasm meter isn't broken?!?!?!?!

Hobbs should absolutely bitch about this. Let the league do what the league wants but walking away with your butt hurt from bending over isn't one of them.
rest of us and team should focus on next game.
First of all Zappa I'm sure you remember the pine tar incident with Brett .That call was overturned the next day-- it happens. And for the "expert" who cries and criticizes our coach that he should bitch after a call why not our AD or RU. And as for Pike's call, it worked-- we won that game but the win was nullified by the refs.

Nobody (hardly anybody) expects the call to be overturned. But working the refs, working the Big Ten front office, working the selection committee...it's all part of the job. Right now the team should focus on making the outcome of this game irrelevant to what happens on selection Sunday. But you never know what will happen down the road...even in future years. So it's not a bad thing for the AD and fans to make a stink and bank some proverbial makeup calls.

Yes, but the B1G owes everyone an explanation. If they think the refs got it right then say so.

I could care less but they are leaving their refs out to dry.

No one is saying this team should curl up in a ball like many of us did after this loss but If you've got "balls " like this team has , if RU or the AD complains to the league , It doesn't matter , I expect this team to come out with their hair on fire at the RAC

Can we tell him to get us an offense for the football team too?

I think he should elevate our grievances, not to the point of embarrassment, and maybe, just maybe we get some 50/50 balls from the refs in terms of calls to go our way the rest of the season.

Let him know you want Rutgers to challenge the Ohio State result. https://scarletknights.com/staff-directory/pat-hobbs/1
We clearly got hosed, but those errors aren't reviewable during the game, so what makes you think any post-game review would ever happen (apart from a very low grade for those refs)? It's nonsensical to even bring this up. We have a good team and we'll likely be fine and hopefully the chip on our shoulder gets a little bigger and the team focuses even better moving forward. And hopefully the coaching staff dose better in endgame situations, where we didn't shine last night.

If you do call, ask him to fire Greg Schiano for me
Yes ! Once he’s on the line , so many topics to cover ! This is a good opportunity .

Anyone that calls in might need to say they’re a big donor and ready to cut a check today. I think that’s the best way to get him on the line

Big Donors are only worried about Train Horn utilization during third down defensive stands. Not sure he will fall for that line...
