Campanille Hired at BC

Meh. Dont care.

Tired of being told about the "NJ hs ties". He had been with the program for 4 seasons. It didn't help.

Time to move on....
And Addazio and staff might all be looking for new jobs if they have another season like they had this yr with all ''Dudes'' on his roster...

Tough to blame Campanile for failing to land the major NJ recruits he was involved with. You need the head coach to close the deal and offer an opportunity to succeed at the college level. I am confident that we will see Coach Ash do a much better job closing highly regarded NJ players.

What you are saying regarding 'blame' is not unreasonable - but the best we can give him is a 'pass' ...
- and the moaning and wailing that some have done - claiming that a vital functioning NJ connection has been lost just does not hold up - because, while one can diagram on paper lines-of-connection, there has not been any evidence that these particular connections do or don't function.

Agree that a 'closer' is important - and furthermore, a coach who is vividly demonstrating that he has (1) brilliant command of the game (2) great skills at developing players and developing a brilliant staff - will attract great interest - and gee - that will make 'closing' a lot easier..

people way overestimate the importance of a coach also having to be some great recruiter. Yes its good, a plus if the coach can also recruit well.. but what about having some coaches who can just flat out coach? We're so obsessed with who can recruit and who can't... maybe we're responsible for the way the game looks today with all the prima donnas and sleezy coaches. I don't recall campanile ever saying he would pull in all of the parochial school kids - thats something that us fans were flapping about. The last regime made it difficult to recruit for all of the coaches on staff.
