Can I complain like an old man about JWill (even thought I don't really believe it)?

The whole JWill fouling out and playing with the fans fiasco.

We're losing.
Season going down the drain.
But JWill is yucking it up with fans while they do the dumb "Left/Right" chant.
Hopping on one foot.
Delaying taking a seat.
Sitting then standing back up quickly.

How about being engaged with the game?
Be angry about fouling out.
Be angry about only scoring 4pts when the team needed a lift with Ace out.

I really only cared for half a second.

Been saying it all year and even last year that I don’t believe he’s a leader or a good character player for the team

Our “captains” either barely see the court or act like an asshole on the court

I’m 35 and I’m not a fan of his antics and goofing around.

Great that he’s a nice guy but doesn’t seem like someone that takes winning seriously imo.

And that’s the opposite of what we needed considering how young our roster was this year.

I really do not like his game. I can care less he played with the fans. I do like the idea to have teh fans focused on him and noisy while their player shot FTs.

This. When the fans are more focused on you than the game, you can goad them into chanting or yelling when their own player is taking shots. I love the left/right/sit-down concept... but when a player drags it out and/or times it to interfere with the guy at the line, fans have to know to cut it out.

This. When the fans are more focused on you than the game, you can goad them into chanting or yelling when their own player is taking shots. I love the left/right/sit-down concept... but when a player drags it out and/or times it to interfere with the guy at the line, fans have to know to cut it out.

In theory, yes it’s a strategy.
But that’s not what JWill was doing at all.
Watch it again.

He was playing up to the crowd (quick stepping and hopping) with his back to the FT shooter and well before he was even shooting.
He actually stopped moving (and quieted the crowd) during the 1st FT attempt.
Then did his sit/stand back up/sit routine before the next FT.

Crowd was completely quiet for both FTs.
JWill appears to have had zero impact on the outcome of the FTs.
