I think so, a bit. But the unknown concerns the quality of competition: how many fewer clean looks will we have?

Mike is a solid shooter.

Geo's I think will improve with his confidence.

I think we'll do a better job of getting inside, either through penetration or pass-ins, thus allowing kickouts for better looks by Issa.

Deshawn takes 3's when he's wide open and I'm fine with that.

Corey's shot doesn't look good at all.

Geo's shot looked much better today. Clean rotation. Right now Corey doesn't look like he has a chance from more than 12 feet.

If you're going to play inside-out, you need post players who can pass and score. At very least, you need people who can get in the lane with the dribble. Hard to do that if you can't shoot.

It's not easy to shoot at the RAC. Very tough building. Career 42% 3PT Shooter and shot 38% at the RAC.

I do not see it getting much better. Williams can hit at times. I do not think that Freeman should ever shoot another one and hopefully Baker can hit them against better competition. It is what it is unfortunaely....a woeful 15-73 so far this year

Not until RU recruits players that are pure shooters will the 3 pt shooting improve.

I think Baker and Thiam will get better as the season progresses. I'm okay with Freeman taking the occasional wide open three. I hope Williams can stay in the 40% range, but I don't see Sanders suddenly becoming an outside threat.

Well, I agree that if you don't have post players who can pass and score, players who can get in the lane, or guys who can shoot, well . . . it's gonna be tough.

I think Corey and Geo can get in the lane, but I think Geo is more under control and more aware. I'm HOPING Doucoure caN develop the instinct to know when to pass out, something Deshawn seems unabe to do..

The answer is yes, mostly because 2 of our top 3 shooters are underclassman.

we know what we're getting from Mike and Corey. I think what you see is what you get with them. Mike is a good but not great shooter, Corey is below average for a 1 or 2.

Thiam might really get it going but I still don't see enough of trying to get Thiam shots. Run a play where we penetrate and dish to him! I don't see us doing enough of that

Geo I do think will improve . I think he can shoot but is just feeling his way through these first few games. I mentioned on the game thread that even though Geo's shots from 12 feet or beyond only count for 2 or 3 on the scoreboard, in my head it counts as more because it will give him confidence for the future (I hope).

However , thats pretty much it. I don't seen anyone else making 3s for us except for the occasional one by Freeman. And that's no where near enough. We need 3 or 4 three point threats on the court at the same time to be good, and we just don't have that on the roster. I don't think our w/l ceiling is very high simply because of this fact.

Teams will play zone and dare us to make a shot, so we'll have to make some 3s. Geo and Thiam should take the majority of them. I'm sure Coach screams "Offensive rebound!!" every practice, lol, because he knows that'll be an important part of the offense.
